In the closing scenes of this earth’s history, when intensity is taking possession of every earthly element, the Lord requires of us a vigilance that knows no relaxation. But we are not left to struggle alone. Amid the dangers increasing on every hand, those who walk humbly before God, distrustful of their own wisdom, will have angels as their helpers and protectors. In times of special peril they will know the power of God’s keeping care. Those who do not realize their danger because they do not watch, will pay, with the loss of their souls, the penalty of their presumption and their wilful ignorance of Satan’s devices. Babylonians, The Time of Trouble and Hezekiah Failure To Uplift The Lord!

We are living amid the closing scenes of this earth’s history. It is a time when we should draw very near to God. How is our time occupied? What are we doing to lead those with whom we associate to seek earnestly for higher, holier attainments? The Lord has given us the assurance that we may be laborers together with Him in the work of soul-saving. He desires us to be ever on the watch for opportunities to point souls to Christ, saying, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.” ST October 1,  1902, par. 7

Had Hezekiah improved the opportunity given him to bear witness to the power, the goodness, the compassion, of the God of Israel, the report of the ambassadors would have been as light piercing darkness. But he magnified himself above the Lord of hosts, and failed to give God the glory. He “rendered not again according to the benefit done unto him; for his heart was lifted up; therefore there was wrath upon him, and upon Judah and Jerusalem.”
O that those for whom God has done marvelous things would show forth His praises, and tell of His mighty works. But how often those for whom God works are like Hezekiah,—forgetful of the Giver of all their blessings. ST October 1,  1902, par. 11 – ST October 1,  1902, par. 12

Glorify God and be Prepared to give Battle to our great Foe

We are living in a solemn time amid the closing scenes of this earth’s history, and God’s people are not awake. They must arouse and make greater progress in reforming their habits of living, in eating, in dressing, in laboring and resting. In all these they should glorify God and be prepared to give battle to our great foe and to enjoy the precious victories which God has in reserve for those who are exercising temperance in all things while striving for an incorruptible crown. 1T 618.1

The Day is Nearing Its Close, Cooperate With Christ

This is the great sin of which men and women are guilty today. They appreciate not the blessings and privileges within their reach. “In this thy day.” The day is nearing its close. We are living amid the last scenes of this earth’s history. Can it be that we shall be among the number that Christ mentioned with so much sorrow as He halted on the crest of Olivet? O, that all would know in this their day the things that belong to their peace. Shall Christ say to any one of us, “But now they are hid from thine eyes”? He will be obliged to do so if we fail to show our appreciation of His mercy by doing all in our power to co-operate with Him. ST July 26, 1899, par. 10

We are sounding to the world the last message of warning. We are laborers together with God, living and working amid the closing scenes of this earth’s history. From God’s watchmen the world must hear the truth for this time. He who commanded the light to shine out of darkness has issued the command to us, Let your light shine before me. Go forth as a lamp that burneth. Diffuse light. Each period of the fulfillment of prophetic history is a preparation for the advanced light which will succeed each period. As the prophecy comes to an end, there is to be a perfect whole. 13MR 15.3

This compromise between paganism and Christianity resulted in the development of “the man of sin” foretold in prophecy as opposing and exalting himself above God (2 Thessalonians 2:3). That gigantic system of false religion is a masterpiece of Satan’s power—a monument of his efforts to seat himself upon the throne to rule the earth according to his will.
Satan once endeavored to form a compromise with Christ. He came to the Son of God in the wilderness of temptation, and showing Him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them, offered to give all into His hands if He would but acknowledge the supremacy of the prince of darkness. Christ rebuked the presumptuous tempter and forced him to depart. But Satan meets with greater success in presenting the same temptations to man. To secure worldly gains and honors, the church was led to seek the favor and support of the great men of earth; and having thus rejected Christ, she was induced to yield allegiance to the representative of Satan—the bishop of Rome.
It is one of the leading doctrines of Romanism that the pope is the visible head of the universal church of Christ, invested with supreme authority over bishops and pastors in all parts of the world. More than this, the pope has been given the very titles of Deity. He has been styled “Lord God the Pope” (see Appendix), and has been declared infallible. He demands the homage of all men. The same claim urged by Satan in the wilderness of temptation is still urged by him through the Church of Rome, and vast numbers are ready to yield him homage. GC 50.1 – GC 50.3

While appearing to the children of men as a great physician who can heal all their maladies, he will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce  tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. These visitations are to become more and more frequent and disastrous. Destruction will be upon both man and beast. “The earth mourneth and fadeth away,” “the haughty people … do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.” Isaiah 24:4, 5.
And then the great deceiver will persuade men that those who serve God are causing these evils. The class that have provoked the displeasure of Heaven will charge all their troubles upon those whose obedience to God’s commandments is a perpetual reproof to transgressors. It will be declared that men are offending God by the violation of the Sunday sabbath; that this sin has brought calamities which will not cease until Sunday observance shall be strictly enforced; and that those who present the claims of the fourth commandment, thus destroying reverence for Sunday, are troublers of the people, preventing their restoration to divine favor and temporal prosperity. Thus the accusation urged of old against the servant of God will be repeated and upon grounds equally well established: “And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel? And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.” 1 Kings 18:17, 18. As the wrath of the people shall be excited by false charges, they will pursue a course toward God’s ambassadors very similar to that which apostate Israel pursued toward Elijah. GC 589.3 – GC 590.1

The prophecy of Revelation 13 declares that the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns shall cause “the earth and them which dwell therein” to worship the papacy—there symbolized by the beast “like unto a leopard.” The beast with two horns is also to say “to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast;” and, furthermore, it is to command all, “both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,” to receive the mark of the beast. Revelation 13:11-16. It has been shown that the United States is the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns, and that this prophecy will be fulfilled when the United States shall enforce Sunday observance, which Rome claims as the special acknowledgment of her supremacy. But in this homage to the papacy the United States will not be alone. The influence of Rome in the countries that once acknowledged her dominion is still far from being destroyed. And prophecy foretells a restoration of her power. “I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” Verse 3. The infliction of the deadly wound points to the downfall of the papacy in 1798. After this, says the prophet, “his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.” Paul states plainly that the “man of sin” will continue until the second advent. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-8. To the very close of time he will carry forward the work of deception. And the revelator declares, also referring to the papacy: “All that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life.” Revelation 13:8. In both the Old and the New World, the papacy will receive homage in the honor paid to the Sunday institution, that rests solely upon the authority of the Roman Church.
Since the middle of the nineteenth century, students of prophecy in the United States have presented this testimony to the world. In the events now taking place is seen a rapid advance toward the fulfillment of the prediction. With Protestant teachers there is the same claim of divine authority for Sundaykeeping, and the same lack of Scriptural evidence, as with the papal leaders who fabricated miracles to supply the place of a command from God. The assertion that God’s judgments are visited upon men for their violation of the Sunday-sabbath, will be repeated; already it is beginning to be urged. Unanswered Prayers (and Faith)
Waiting . . .
❖ Abraham had to wait 25 years to get an answer to his prayer.
❖ Moses waited 40 years for God to finally intervene.

❖ In prayer we may have to wait for an answer.

We Are an Open Letter
❖ The Lord’s prayer starts with the words, “Our Father in heaven.”
❖ God is not only the God of the Universe but He also has a close, intimate relationship with us.
❖ Paul says that we are an open letter read by all people (2 Cor. 3:2).
❖ In 1 Corinthians 4:9 he writes, “For we have been made a spectacle to the world” (NKJV).
❖ People don’t see God, they see us. Our daily behavior can glorify God and honor Him, or it can dishonor His name and misrepresent the church and negatively affect its work (Matt. 5:13–16).
❖ In no case are we to glorify ourselves; we should seek God for grace and spiritual blessings, that we may glorify His name in our characters. God is glorified, His name is hallowed, when His children give in their lives a representation of Christ’s character” (Manuscript 34, 1903, par. 15).
❖ in your prayer seek only things that would honor and serve God. 1 John 5:14 says that “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (NKJV).
❖ “To pray in Christ’s name means much. It means that we are to accept His character, manifest His spirit, and work His works” (The Desire of Ages, p. 668). (John 14:13, 14; 1 John 5:14).
❖ We must not take any credit for ourselves like Satan tries to take God’s glory for himself.

Salvation Has Entered
❖ In Luke 19 Jesus offers to enter Zacchaeus’ house. Then Jesus says, “Today salvation has come to this house” (verse 9). When Jesus lives in your place, heaven is there.
❖ Before you can enter God’s kingdom, God’s kingdom must enter your heart. (John 17 Jesus prayed his disciples to be not be of the world (John 17:15, 16).
❖ If we focus on the things of the world, we will become like the world. “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matt. 6:21, NKJV).
❖ “The faces of men and women who talk with God, to whom the invisible world is a reality, express the peace of God. i.e. Stephen. They carry with them the soft and genial atmosphere of heaven” (Medical Ministry, p. 252).
❖ Jesus is coming soon! But for you to be ready to enter His kingdom when He comes, you must have His kingdom live within you now. You must daily pray, “Lord, please come with Your kingdom into my heart today.”
❖ We live as citizens of heaven.

❖ We all have plans, long-term plans and daily plans.
❖ Seek God’s plans. “I know the plans I have for you” (Jer. 29:11, NIV). To have God’s blessings and resources, you must follow His plan.
❖ God, He is the Master. He should tell us what to do. “Each morning consecrate yourself to God for that day. Surrender all your plans to Him, to be carried out or given up as His providence shall indicate. Thus day by day you may be giving your life into the hands of God” (Steps to Christ, p. 70).“Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
❖ In heaven angels serve God and His plan
❖ “Too many, in planning for a brilliant future, make an utter failure. Let God plan for you. . . . .” (The Ministry of Healing, p. 479).
❖ Do God’s will by listening in prayer. What He says to you is a lot more important than what you say to Him.
❖ We “need to have a personal experience in obtaining a knowledge of the will of God. We must individually hear Him speaking to the heart. ..” (The Ministry of Healing, p. 58).
❖ Through prayer we speak to God, and through the Word He speaks to us. “The Bible is God’s voice speaking to us, just as surely as though we could hear it with our ears” (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 6, p. 393).cast all our needs upon Him (1 Peter 5:7).
❖ Seek God first, then trust that He will take care of all your needs as He promised (Matt. 6:33). Make yourself available to serve Him and follow His will.

Give Us This Day Our Daily Bread
God Will Provide
❖ God cares for us more than we care for our own children. He promises that our bread will be supplied (Isa. 33:16).
❖ But notice the word us in the verse: “Give us this day our daily bread.” Jesus clearly implies that we should not only ask for ourselves but also for those around us. ( love others just as much as we love ourselves (Mark 12:31), [RS1] and we must pray for others (James 5:16). [RS2] “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2, NKJV). The first-century disciples did that. They were one in everything they did (Acts 4:32).
❖ “…..We are to ask blessings from God that we may communicate to others. The capacity for receiving is preserved only by imparting. We cannot continue to receive heavenly treasure without communicating to those around us” (Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 142, 143).
❖ The Lord’s prayer doesn’t talk about bread for tomorrow, only for today. Israel collected manna only for one day at a time (Exod. 16:4),worry for tomorrow (Matt. 6:34). Ask for today. Ask to share. Seek to bless.
❖ At the judgment Jesus will say, “I was naked and hungry and thirsty. The way you loved those around you shows the real way you loved Me” (see Matt. 25:31–45).

Forgive Us Our Debts As We Forgive Our Debtors
“I Didn’t Feel It”
❖ How do you “feel” forgiveness? Is it a warm feeling in your body, or something cold on your right hand, or a tickling behind your neck? Do you smell it?
❖ The Bible is clear. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9, NKJV).
❖ The Bible plainly says that if we confess our sins, He forgives (small sins or a limited number of sins) them ALL. The condition: you must confess.
❖ Forgiveness is not something that you can feel or prove scientifically. It is by faith. You take God’s Word for it and believe that God doesn’t lie.
❖ Jesus already paid the price of sin at the cross. He is “the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world” (John 1:29, NKJV). His blood is sufficient, and in His blood you have redemption for all your sins (Eph. 1:7).

❖ After you confess you need to exercise faith, to choose to believe that God does what He promised.
—- “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness” (Rom. 4:3, NIV). Remember, “the righteous will live by faith” (Rom. 1:17, NIV).
❖ Don’t try to explain forgiveness or deserve it. “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God” (Eph. 2:8, NIV).
❖ “Through this simple act of believing God, the Holy Spirit has begotten a new life in your heart. You are as a child born into the family of God,…” (Steps to Christ, p. 52).
❖ . . If you believe the promise . . . God supplies the fact. . . . Do not wait to feel that you are made whole, but say, “I believe it; it is so, not because I feel it, but because God has promised” (Steps to Christ, p. 51).
❖ Fix your eyes on His cross.Those who experience forgiveness, forgive. “The ground of all forgiveness is found in the unmerited love of God, but by our attitude toward others we show whether we have made that love our own” (Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 251).

Do Not Lead Us Into Temptation
Does God Really Do That?
❖ God is Holy, He is love. He tempts no one, we tempt ourselves (James 1:14, 15).
❖ At times God allows or puts you in specific situations to help you understand your heart and spiritual condition, to open your eyes to see how you are and what you need. The Bible says that you “do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked” (Rev. 3:17, NKJV). When you know you are sick, you go to a doctor.
❖ When we see how we are, we realize how sinful we are and know we need Jesus. “Those who live nearest to Jesus discern most clearly the frailty and sinfulness of humanity, and their only hope is in the merit of a crucified and risen Savior” (The Great Controversy, p. 471).
God tested King Zedekiah (2 Chron. 32:31). Proverbs 17:3 says that God is testing our hearts. David prayed, “Test me, Lord, and try me” (Ps. 26:2, NIV). Peter says that the fiery trials are sometimes meant to test us (1 Peter 4:12).
❖ “A view of our sinfulness drives us to Him who can pardon; when the soul, realizing its helplessness, reaches out after Christ, He will reveal Himself in power” (Steps to Christ, p. 65).

What’s going on with smartphones now?

For nearly three decades, mobile phones have been a staple in our everyday lives, morphing from basic communication tools into mini-computers we can’t live without. But maybe that era’s wrapping up. Some industry insiders think smartphones might soon become just another accessory. As tech advances and users’ tastes shift, lugging around a bulky device could start to feel outdated, especially with more sleek and handy options popping up.

It is true that spiritualism is now changing its form and, veiling some of its more objectionable features, is assuming  a Christian guise. But its utterances from the platform and the press have been before the public for many years, and in these its real character stands revealed. These teachings cannot be denied or hidden.
Even in its present form, so far from being more worthy of toleration than formerly, it is really a more dangerous, because a more subtle, deception. While it formerly denounced Christ and the Bible, it now professes to accept both. But the Bible is interpreted in a manner that is pleasing to the unrenewed heart, while its solemn and vital truths are made of no effect. Love is dwelt upon as the chief attribute of God, but it is degraded to a weak sentimentalism, making little distinction between good and evil. God’s justice, His denunciations of sin, the requirements of His holy law, are all kept out of sight. The people are taught to regard the Decalogue as a dead letter. Pleasing, bewitching fables captivate the senses and lead men to reject the Bible as the foundation of their faith. Christ is as verily denied as before; but Satan has so blinded the eyes of the people that the deception is not discerned. GC 557.2 – GC 558.1

A lot of folks in the tech scene are jumping on board with the idea that smartphones are losing their edge. People want gadgets that blend seamlessly into their daily grind without being flashy or cumbersome. Smart glasses could hit this sweet spot by delivering hands-free functionality.

Says the prophet Isaiah: “When they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.” Isaiah 8:19, 20. If men had been willing to receive the truth so plainly stated in the Scriptures concerning the nature of man and the state of the dead, they would see in the claims and manifestations of spiritualism the working of Satan with power and signs and lying wonders. What’s Mark Zuckerberg saying about what’s next?

Zuckerberg thinks that within ten years, smart glasses will overtake smartphones in both popularity and usefulness. By the time we hit the 2030s, he predicts people will be keeping their phones tucked away more than they’re using them. Even though smartphones will still have all those features for specific tasks, folks will lean towards smart glasses for day-to-day stuff because they’re just easier.

He put it like this: “There will come a point where your smartphone will be more often in your pocket than out.” This view hints at a major shift where ease of use wins over sheer capability, with people opting for quick access through eyewear instead of pulling out their phones.

Satan has long been preparing for his final effort to deceive the world. The foundation of his work was laid by the assurance given to Eve in Eden: “Ye shall not surely die.” “In the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:4, 5. HELSINKI (Reuters) – Crew on board an oil tanker accused of sabotaging undersea power and communications cables in the Baltic Sea were poised to cut other cables and pipelines when Finnish authorities boarded the vessel last month, the head of the Finnish investigation said.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Baltic Sea region has faced numerous disruptions to power cables, telecom links, and gas pipelines. NATO member states surrounding the Baltic Sea are scheduled to meet in Helsinki on Jan. 14 to discuss collective measures against such threats.

When the leading churches of the United States, uniting upon such points of doctrine as are held by them in common, shall influence the state to enforce their decrees and to sustain their institutions, then Protestant America will have formed an image of the Roman hierarchy, and the infliction of civil penalties upon dissenters will inevitably result. These records of the past clearly reveal the enmity of Rome toward the true Sabbath and its defenders, and the means which she employs to honor the institution of her creating. The word of God teaches that these scenes are to be repeated as Roman Catholics and Protestants shall unite for the exaltation of the Sunday.
The prophecy of Revelation 13 declares that the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns shall cause “the earth and them which dwell therein” to worship the papacy—there symbolized by the beast “like unto a leopard.” The beast with two horns is also to say “to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast;” and, furthermore, it is to command all, “both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond,” to receive the mark of the beast. Revelation 13:11-16. It has been shown that the United States is the power represented by the beast with lamblike horns, and that this prophecy will be fulfilled when the United States shall enforce Sunday observance, which Rome claims as the special acknowledgment of her supremacy. But in this homage to the papacy the United States will not be alone. The influence of Rome in the countries that once acknowledged her dominion is still far from being destroyed. The infliction of the deadly wound points to the downfall of the papacy in 1798. As the Protestant churches reject the clear, Scriptural arguments in defense of God’s law, they will long to silence those whose faith they cannot overthrow by the Bible. Though they blind their own eyes to the fact, they are now adopting a course which will lead to the persecution of those who conscientiously refuse to do what the rest of the Christian world are doing, and acknowledge the claims of the papal sabbath.
The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet’s words: “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17. In another incident, Finland and other Baltic Sea nations suspect a Chinese bulk carrier, Yi Peng 3, of dragging its anchor to breach two undersea fibre-optic communications cables in November.

Sweden’s Civil Defence Minister Carl-Oskar Bohlin said on Sunday said that authorities had determined the Chinese ship had also threatened to cut a power cable connecting the Baltic states and the Nordic countries.

The Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science, and Culture (OEI) is an intergovernmental organization of sovereign states representing all of the Spanish, Portuguese, and Catalan-speaking nations in Central America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. The OEI has a significant influence in matters of education, science, and culture, both at the university and government levels, within the Ibero-American countries.

On January 10, 2025, Vatican News announced that the Pontifical Commission for Latin America (PCAL) and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science, and Culture (OEI) entered into a collaboration agreement in order to promote Pope Francis’ Building Bridges Initiative—a system of policies that will influence education, intergovernmental alliances, environmental sustainability, economic justice, and human development.

The Vatican News published the following:

• “The Pontifical Commission for Latin America (PCAL), representing the Holy See, signed an agreement with the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) on January 8, 2025 in the Vatican. Based on Pope Francis’ Building Bridges initiative, a collaboration is established with regional integration and the promotion of education as its main axes.” [1]

• “The collaboration agreement signed by Cardinal Prevost and Mariano Jabonero establishes the bases for joint participation in different events, which will allow strengthening dialogue and alliances between governments, academics, experts and key actors of civil society. Its objective is to generate innovative proposals and contribute to the development of public policies that favor regional integration, environmental sustainability and social development.” [1]

• “The OEI will collaborate in the implementation of two Ibero-American meetings organized by the PCAL, within the framework of its Episcopal Bridge between Large Cities initiative, within the Building Bridges Initiative, a program that has been carried out in recent years, with the direct participation of Pope Francis, in which students from various organizations around the world reflect on various topics and dialogue with the Holy Father on environmental sustainability, economic justice and integral human development.” [1]

The problem is that Pope Francis’ version of unity, peace, dialogue, education, sustainability, economics, labor, human development, and every other policy is that he wants these principles to be based on Catholic social doctrine. In other words, Pope Francis is basically telling us that in order to obtain world peace and economic prosperity, we must take and implement the teachings of Fratelli Tutti and Laudato Si’ and incorporate them into public and personal life. Sounds simple enough, right? All we have to do in order to achieve true and lasting world-wide peace is to embrace Catholic theology, Catholic liturgy, Catholic traditions, and Catholic education.

Accepting Pope Francis’ social contract would be a terrible mistake that would spell the end of peace and happiness. Paul predicted long ago that a “peace and safety” cry would usher in “sudden destruction” rather than peace (1 Thessalonians 5:2, 3). This movement would occur right before the Second Coming of Jesus, and in Revelation 13:3, 12; Revelation 16:13, 14; and Revelation 17:2, 12, 13, the Apostle John predicted the same global religious-political unification. Sister White also reveals that this movement would reach its pinnacle in a grand scheme to convert the entire world and usher in the long-awaited millennium of “peace.”

“Papists, Protestants, and worldlings will alike accept the form of godliness without the power, and they will see in this union a grand movement for the conversion of the world, and the ushering in of the long-expected millennium”

This goal of Rome is diametrically opposed to the goals of the Remnant people of God. So, in order to appease Rome and join her in the universal religious, economic, and political order, we would have to compromise the Three Angels’ Message, the very message from God that will expose the papacy’s aims. That is why Rome cannot be appeased with half measures or some kind of middle ground. What Rome wants is complete surrender on our part. It is tragic that far too many people have already sold themselves to this universal fraternity. However, God will always have a faithful remnant who will never bow their knee to Baal.

“Here is the line of distinction between the worshipers of God and those who worship the beast and receive his mark. The great conflict is between the commandments of God and the requirements of the beast. It is because the saints are keeping all ten of the commandments that the dragon makes war upon them. If they will lower the standard and yield the peculiarities of their faith, the dragon will be at peace; but they excite his ire because they have dared to raise the standard and unfurl their banner in opposition to the Protestant world, who are worshiping the institution of papacy”

The world’s first wooden satellite has officially been deployed.

Built by the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA), the timber-clad device was sent to International Space Station last November.

Now, NASA says that the tiny satellite, dubbed LignoSat, was finally released into the wild last month, in an experiment that will explore the viability of using wood in space — which if fruitful, could offer a more sustainable alternative to traditional metal components.

“With timber, a material we can produce by ourselves, we will be able to build houses, live and work in space forever,” Takao Doi, a former JAXA astronaut who studies human space activities at Kyoto University, told Reuters last year.

Let believers in the truth for this time, turn away from authors that teach infidelity. Let not the works of skeptics appear on your library shelves, where your children can have access to them. Let those who have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, no longer deem it an essential feature of a good education to have a knowledge of the writings of those who deny the existence of God, and pour contempt upon his holy word. Give no place to the agents of Satan, since there is nothing by which to vindicate their doings; a clean thing cannot come out of an unclean. A team of geophysicists at ETH Zurich in Switzerland has made a baffling discovery while analyzing earthquake waves to investigate the internal structures of the Earth.

Specifically, they found areas in our planet’s interior that appear to be the leftovers of submerged tectonic plates deep below large oceans.

The finding also presents scientists with a new puzzle: the pieces are far away from plate boundaries — nowhere near where they expected to find them.

It’s an intriguing finding that suggests a “lost world” could be lurking deep below the Pacific Ocean, highlighting how much there still is to learn about what’s going on deep below our planet’s crust.

As detailed in a paper published in the journal Scientific Reports, the team used a supercomputer to analyze the earthquake data, gathered from seismographic stations around the world, and create a new high-resolution model of the Earth’s interior.

What nation of the New World was in 1798 rising into power, giving promise of strength and greatness, and attracting the attention of the world? The application of the symbol admits of no question. One nation, and only one, meets the specifications of this prophecy; it points unmistakably to the United States of America. Again and again the thought, almost the exact words, of the sacred writer has been unconsciously employed by the orator and the historian in describing the rise and growth of this nation. The beast was seen “coming up out of the earth;” and, according to the translators, the word here rendered “coming up” literally signifies “to grow or spring up as a plant.” And, as we have seen, the nation must arise in territory previously unoccupied. A prominent writer, describing the rise of the United States, speaks of “the mystery of her coming forth from vacancy,” and says: “Like a silent seed we grew into empire.”—G. A. Here was the true spirit of reform, the vital principle of Protestantism. It was with this purpose that the Pilgrims departed from Holland to find a home in the New World. John Robinson, their pastor, who was providentially prevented from accompanying them, in his farewell address to the exiles said:
“Brethren, we are now erelong to part asunder, and the Lord knoweth whether I shall live ever to see your faces more. But whether the Lord hath appointed it or not, I  charge you before God and His blessed angels to follow me no farther than I have followed Christ. If God should reveal anything to you by any other instrument of His, be as ready to receive it as ever you were to receive any truth of my ministry; for I am very confident the Lord hath more truth and light yet to break forth out of His holy word.”—Martyn 5:70.
“For my part, I cannot sufficiently bewail the condition of the reformed churches, who are come to a period in religion, and will go at present no farther than the instruments of their reformation. Eleven years after the planting of the first colony, Roger Williams came to the New World. Like the early Pilgrims he came to enjoy religious freedom; but, unlike them, he saw—what so few in his time had yet seen—that this freedom was the inalienable right of all, whatever might be their creed. He was an earnest seeker for truth, with Robinson holding it impossible that all the light from God’s word had yet been received. Williams “was the first person in modern Christendom to establish civil government on the doctrine of the liberty of conscience, the equality of opinions before the law.”—Bancroft, pt. 1, ch. 15, par. 16. He declared it to be the duty of the magistrate to restrain crime, but never to control the conscience. “The public or the magistrates may decide,” he said, “what is due from man to man; but when they attempt to prescribe a man’s duties to God, they are out of place, and there can be no safety; for it is clear that if the magistrate has the power, he may decree one set of opinions or beliefs today and another tomorrow; as has been done in England by different kings and queens, and by different popes and councils in the Roman Church; so that belief would become a heap of confusion.”—Martyn, vol. 5, p. 340. As the tidings spread through the countries of Europe, of a land where every man might enjoy the fruit of his own labor and obey the convictions of his own conscience, thousands flocked to the shores of the New World. Colonies rapidly multiplied. “Massachusetts, by special law, offered free welcome and aid, at the public cost, to Christians of any nationality who might fly beyond the Atlantic ‘to escape from wars or famine, or the oppression of their persecutors.’ Thus the fugitive and the downtrodden were, by statute, made the guests of the commonwealth.”—Martyn, vol. 5, p. 417. In twenty years from the first landing at Plymouth, as many thousand Pilgrims were settled in New England.
To secure the object which they sought, “they were content to earn a bare subsistence by a life of frugality and toil. They asked nothing from the soil but the reasonable returns of their own labor. No golden vision threw a deceitful halo around their path…. They were content with the slow but steady progress of their social polity. They patiently endured the privations of the wilderness, watering the tree of liberty with their tears, and with the sweat of their brow, till it took deep root in the land.” GC 296.1 – GC 296.2

Romanism in the Old World and apostate Protestantism (America) in the New will pursue a similar course toward those who honor all the divine precepts.
The people of God will then be plunged into those scenes of affliction and distress described by the prophet as the time of Jacob’s trouble. “Thus saith the Lord: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace…. All faces are turned into paleness. Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:5-7. At this time great perils surrounded the Protestant cause. The anathemas of the pope thundered against Geneva, and mighty nations threatened it with destruction. How was this little city to resist the powerful hierarchy that had so often forced kings and emperors to submission? How could it stand against the armies of the world’s great conquerors?
Throughout Christendom, Protestantism was menaced by formidable foes. The first triumphs of the Reformation past, Rome summoned new forces, hoping to accomplish its destruction. At this time the order of the Jesuits was created, the most cruel, unscrupulous, and powerful of all the champions of popery. Cut off from earthly ties and human interests, dead to the claims of natural affection, reason and conscience wholly silenced, they knew no rule, no tie, but that of their order, and no duty but to extend its power. (See Appendix.) The gospel of Christ had enabled its adherents to meet danger and endure suffering, undismayed by cold, hunger, toil, and poverty, to uphold the banner of truth in face of the rack, the dungeon, and the stake. To combat these forces, Jesuitism inspired its followers with a fanaticism that enabled them to endure like dangers, and to oppose to the power of truth all the weapons of deception. There was no crime too great for them to commit, no deception too base for them to practice, no disguise too difficult for them to assume. Vowed to perpetual poverty and humility, it was their studied aim to secure wealth and power, to be devoted to the overthrow of Protestantism, and the re-establishment of the papal supremacy.
When appearing as members of their order, they wore a garb of sanctity, visiting prisons and hospitals, ministering to the sick and the poor, professing to have renounced the world, and bearing the sacred name of Jesus, who went about doing good. But under this blameless exterior the most criminal and deadly purposes were often concealed. It was a fundamental principle of the order that the end justifies the means. By this code, lying, theft, perjury, assassination, were not only pardonable but commendable, when they served the interests of the church. Under various disguises the Jesuits worked their way into offices of state, climbing up to be the counselors of kings, and shaping the policy of nations. They became servants to act as spies upon their masters. They established colleges for the sons of princes and nobles, and schools for the common people; and the children of Protestant parents were drawn into an observance of popish rites. All the outward pomp and display of the Romish worship was brought to bear to confuse the mind and dazzle and captivate the imagination, and thus the liberty for which the fathers had toiled and bled was betrayed by the sons.
