After the child called her ‘fat’, Crampton told police she took his phone away. She claims he pushed her arm off the armrest twice and that’s when she began “smacking” him, the report says.

The report says the family declined to give statements to police.

Crampton is charged with felony child abuse. She appeared in front of a Seminole County judge Tuesday who granted her a $10,000 bond.

The judge ordered she has no contact with the child.

The report says the FBI was notified of the incident.

The Israeli military is extending its ground operations deep into Gaza, creating a large buffer zone between the Strip and Israeli territory and pushing hundreds of thousands of civilians into an ever-smaller area on the Mediterranean coast.

By CNN’s tally, the Israel Defense Forces has issued 20 evacuation orders since March 18, encompassing large parts of Gaza, including all of Rafah in the south.

In all, according to the United Nations, some 400,000 people have been told to move over the past three weeks, as the Israeli military intensifies efforts to force Hamas to free Israeli hostages. In the process much of Gaza has become uninhabitable or out of bounds.

“As the controversy extends into new fields, and the minds of the people are called to God’s downtrodden law, Satan is astir. The power attending the message will only madden those who oppose it. The clergy will put forth almost superhuman efforts to shut away the light, lest it should shine upon their flocks. ‘Returning Home’ : At least 73 dead in Gaza as “advancing Israel plans” new corridor

The streets of Gaza City were crammed with waves of fleeing civilians Friday, carrying what they could as they left other parts of central and northern Gaza.

One displaced man, Raed Radwan, watched as hundreds more people entered the neighborhood of Sheikh Radwan, describing it as “completely filled with tents and displaced families.”

“I see tents and people lining both sides of the road in heartbreaking conditions.
Bulldozers are clearing the rubble of bombed homes to make space for more tents,” he told CNN.

Hatem Abdulsalam, also in Gaza City, told CNN that he could not “describe what we’re suffering due to garbage, flies, mosquitoes and strange insects, they are everywhere due to the waste piling up in the streets.”

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said Friday that more than two-thirds of Gaza is now either under active displacement orders or designated as “no-go” zones – areas where humanitarian teams are required to coordinate their movements with Israeli authorities.

The Israeli strategy, set out by Defense Minister Israel Katz, is to empty large parts of Gaza and treat anyone staying behind as a combatant. Israeli officials have spoken of ratcheting up the pressure on Hamas to force it to make concessions on the release of the remaining hostages.

The Morag Corridor refers to the dismantled Jewish settlement of Morag in southern Gaza that once existed between Khan Younis and Rafah. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Friday that with the occupation of the corridor, “the encirclement of Rafah has been completed.”

A source familiar with the matter told CNN that Israel is planning to hold a significant portion of Gaza for an “indefinite” period of time.

Still, after 18 months of war, Israel is still facing a dogged adversary.

In August last year, Israel declared that Hamas’ Rafah Brigade had been defeated as it established control over the Philadelphi Corridor along the Egypt-Gaza border. But earlier this week, the new IDF Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, told Israeli troops in Gaza, “I expect you to defeat Hamas’ Rafah Brigade and to achieve victory wherever you operate.”

And on Saturday, three rockets were fired from southern Gaza towards Israel, despite the IDF’s control over much of the area.

Israel’s strategy may have another purpose; to make life so unbearable for Gazans crammed into an ever-smaller pocket of territory without proper shelter that they begin to head for the exit.

Katz suggested as much when he said: “We are working to advance the plan for the voluntary migration of Gaza’s residents, in accordance with the vision of the US President,” referring to Donald Trump’s controversial plan to relocate Palestinians in Gaza and redevelop the territory.

“The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be urged upon us. Those who have step by step yielded to worldly demands, and conformed to worldly customs, will not find it a hard matter to yield to the powers that be, rather than subject themselves to derision, insult, threatened imprisonment, and death. At the White House last Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel was “enabling the people of Gaza to freely make a choice to go wherever they want.”

Trump had “put forward a vision, a bold vision, which we discussed as well, including the countries that might be amenable and are amenable to accepting Palestinians,” Netanyahu said.

But at least in public, Trump showed little enthusiasm for following through on that vision.

For civilians, the unrelenting misery of the last 18 months has just got a lot worse – especially as no aid has entered Gaza for six weeks. The United Nations says it has storage and distribution sites within the displacement zones.

“Overcrowded shelters are in terrible condition, service providers are struggling to operate, and resources are being depleted,” OCHA said on Friday.

“Everything is running extremely low: Bakeries have shut down, life-saving medicines have run out, and water production has been drastically reduced,” the agency said.

Famine of the word of God

It added that many of its efforts to distribute what aid is left within Gaza are blocked by Israeli authorities.

Gaza’s health ministry says that 37% of essential medicines are now completely out of stock, as are more than 50% of cancer drugs.

The United Nations and several NGOs, as well as civilians in Gaza who have spoken with CNN, say hunger is spreading.

Israel implemented the blockade in March to pressure Hamas into accepting new terms for an extension of a ceasefire agreement which had been in place since January. But there is no sign of a new ceasefire being agreed.

CNN has spoken with just a few of the tens of thousands on the move. They are exhausted and disoriented, confused as to whether to obey evacuation orders or hunker down.

Thirty-year-old Faisal Jamal Faisal from Al-Shujaiya in central Gaza arrived in Gaza City with scant possessions.

Speaking as drones buzzed overhead, Faisal said he had stayed at home despite one order to leave. Then an adjacent building had been struck and many people killed, and yet another evacuation order was issued. So he left.

The UN Human Rights Office says Israeli strikes have reduced the shelter available, calculating that in the three weeks since March 18, “there were some 224 incidents of Israeli strikes on residential buildings and tents for internally displaced people.”

“In some 36 strikes about which the UN Human Rights Office corroborated information, the fatalities recorded so far were only women and children,” the office said.

CNN has reached out to the Israeli military for a response to the claim.

Israel has insisted that its strikes are precisely targeted, and care is taken to warn civilians of impending military operations.

That’s of little comfort to 71-year old Abu Mohammad, who suffers from glaucoma and diabetes and is now in Gaza City with nowhere to go.

Visibly distressed and struggling to move, he told CNN on Friday: “Maybe this is the twentieth time we have been displaced. Life has no meaning or future, even the past has been taken from us.”

DEIR AL-BALAH, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israel launched airstrikes across the Gaza Strip early Tuesday, killing at least 235 Palestinians, including women and children, according to hospital officials. The surprise bombardment threatened to wreck the ceasefire in place since January and fully reignite the 17-month-old war.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he ordered the strikes because of a lack of progress in talks to extend the ceasefire. Officials said the operation was open-ended and was expected to expand. The White House said it had been consulted and voiced support for Israel’s actions.

The attack shattered a period of relative calm during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and could resume a war that has already killed tens of thousands of Palestinians and caused widespread destruction across Gaza. A senior Hamas official said Netanyahu’s decision to return to war amounts to a “death sentence” for the remaining hostages. Izzat al-Risheq accused Netanyahu of launching the strikes to try and save his far-right governing coalition and called on mediators to “reveal facts” on who broke the truce.

The strikes came as Netanayahu comes under mounting domestic pressure, with mass protests planned over his handling of the hostage crisis and his decision to fire the head of Israel’s internal security agency. His latest testimony in a long-running corruption trial was canceled after the strikes.

Wounded stream into Gaza hospitals

A strike on a home in the southern city of Rafah killed 17 members of one family, including at least 12 women and children, according to the European Hospital, which received the bodies. The dead included five children, their parents, and another father and his three children.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, Associated Press reporters saw explosions and plumes of smoke. Ambulances brought wounded people to Nasser Hospital, where patients lay on the floor, some screaming. A young girl cried as her bloody arm was bandaged.

Many Palestinians said they had expected a return to war when talks over the second phase of the ceasefire did not begin as scheduled in early February. Israel instead embraced an alternative proposal and cut off all shipments of food, fuel and other aid to the territory’s 2 million Palestinians to try to pressure Hamas to accept it.

“Nobody wants to fight,” Palestinian resident Nidal Alzaanin told the AP by phone from Gaza City. “Everyone is still suffering from the previous months,” he said.

At least 235 people were killed in the strikes overnight and into Tuesday, according to records from seven hospitals. The toll does not include bodies brought to other, smaller health centers, and rescuers were still searching for dead and wounded people.

U.S. backs Israel and blames Hamas

The White House sought to blame Hamas for the renewed fighting. National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said the militant group “could have released hostages to extend the ceasefire but instead chose refusal and war.”

An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss the unfolding operation, said Israel was striking Hamas’ military, leaders and infrastructure and planned to expand the operation beyond air attacks. The official accused Hamas of attempting to rebuild and plan new attacks. Hamas militants and security forces quickly returned to the streets in recent weeks after the ceasefire went into effect.

The strikes came two months after a ceasefire was reached to pause the war. Over six weeks, Hamas released 25 Israeli hostages and the bodies of eight more in exchange for nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners in a first phase of the ceasefire.

Israel’s defense minister, Israel Katz, said the “gates of hell will open in Gaza” if the hostages aren’t released. “We will not stop fighting until all of our hostages are home and we have achieved all of the war goals,” he said.

Talks on a second phase of the ceasefire had stalled

But since that ceasefire ended two weeks ago, the sides have not been able to agree on a way forward with a second phase aimed at releasing the 59 remaining hostages, 35 of whom are believed to be dead, and ending the war altogether.

Hamas has demanded an end to the war and full withdrawal of Israeli troops in exchange for the release of the remaining hostages. Israel says it will not end the war until it destroys Hamas’ governing and military capabilities and frees all hostages — two goals that could be incompatible.

Taher Nunu, a Hamas official, criticized the Israeli attacks. “The international community faces a moral test: either it allows the return of the crimes committed by the occupation army or it enforces a commitment to ending the aggression and war against innocent people in Gaza,” he said.

The war erupted when Hamas-led militants stormed into southern Israel on Oct 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and taking 251 hostages. Most have been released in ceasefires or other deals, with israeli forces rescuing only eight and recovering dozens of bodies.

Israel responded with a military offensive that killed over 48,000 Palestinians, according to local health officials, and displaced an estimated 90% of Gaza’s population. The territory’s Health Ministry doesn’t differentiate between civilians and militants, but says over half of the dead have been women and children.

The ceasefire had brought some relief to Gaza and allowed hundreds of thousands of displaced Palestinians to resume to what remained of their homes.

Netanyahu faces mounting criticism

The return to fighting could also worsen deep internal fissures inside Israel over the fate of the remaining hostages.

The released hostages, some of whom were emaciated, have repeatedly implored the government to press ahead with the ceasefire to return all remaining captives. Tens of thousands of Israelis have taken part in mass demonstrations calling for a ceasefire and return of all hostages.

“We hoped to see hostages beginning to leave,” said Ronen Neutra, the father of Omer Neutra, a slain soldier whose remains are held in Gaza. “The return to war serves the government and Hamas, and the victims will be hostages who are alive and face a threat to their lives,” he told Israeli Army Radio.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza began in mid-January, Israeli forces have killed dozens of Palestinians who the military says approached its troops or entered unauthorized areas.

Still, the deal has tenuously held without an outbreak of wide violence. Egypt, Qatar and the United States have been trying to mediate the next steps in the ceasefire.

Israel wants Hamas to release half of the remaining hostages in return for a promise to negotiate a lasting truce. Hamas instead wants to follow the ceasefire deal reached by the two sides, which calls for negotiations to begin on the ceasefire’s more difficult second phase, in which the remaining hostages would be released and Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza.

2025 is a notable year in the world’s continued efforts toward a more sustainable future. It marks the five-year countdown to 2030, the end of the timeline for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 2025 will also be the 30th convening of the UN Climate Change Conference—also known as COP30—and it is taking place in Brazil, both a symbolically and strategically important nation in the world’s fight against climate change and environmental degradation.

It is also a notable year for Microsoft. In addition to celebrating the 50th anniversary of our company’s founding, it is the midpoint of our own sustainability journey.

Sustainability Journey : shape our path toward 2030 and beyond

In 2020 we announced our ambitions to be carbon negative, water positive, and zero waste by 2030, all while protecting ecosystems. We have made tremendous progress over the past five years, and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished. We’ve also learned lessons along the way, lessons that constantly inform and shape our path toward 2030 and beyond.

The goals that we set in 2020 reflected what we believed we needed to do in order to help push the world toward a net-zero economy.

I joined Microsoft on this journey two years ago—becoming our Chief Sustainability Officer in January 2023—and I continue to be impressed by the work of employees across the company in their relentless pursuit of these goals.

In June 2020, we announced our largest power PPA to date at the time—a 500MW PPA with Sol Systems. Today, we are one of the largest carbon-free energy buyers in the world, with a 34-gigawatt (GW) contracted renewable energy portfolio across 24 countries to date. We are bringing more carbon-free electricity onto the grids where we operate, and we continue to advocate for the expansion of clean energy solutions around the world.
A key component of our water positive goal is to replenish more water than we consume across our global operations. We’ve grown our replenishment portfolio to 90 projects in over 40 locations around the world.
On our journey to become zero waste, we’re finding opportunities to keep electronics in circulation. The repairability of our current portfolio of Surface devices has evolved significantly from our first field-repairable product in 2019. This is also true of Xbox, which recently announced how they’re working to expand the number of ways players can get support to repair their consoles and accessories.
We exceeded our land protection goal, with 15,849 acres of protected land and surpassed our initial target of 11,000 acres by more than 40%.

This is only a snapshot of the real progress we’ve made over the last 5 years. We have a longstanding commitment to sustainability, and our experience shows us that the investments and innovations we’ve focused on are good for our company, our customers, the economy, and our planet. Every investment has also been a learning opportunity, a chance to test our assumptions and adjust as needed.

While we are proud of these achievements, we know that our work is far from over, and that the path ahead has gotten harder. The world is not on track to meet critical climate goals and we see many of these challenges reflected in our own journey.

Our AI and Sustainability Playbook,

In 2020, Microsoft leaders referred to our sustainability goals as a “moonshot,” and nearly five years later, we have had to acknowledge that the moon has gotten further away. However, the force creating this distance from our goals in the short term is the same one that will help us build a bigger, faster, and more powerful rocket to reach them in the long term: artificial intelligence (AI). This is not hyperbole. Already, we are seeing AI make a positive impact on the planet, and in the coming years, this technology will begin to rapidly accelerate climate solutions at a scale we’ve not yet seen. In November 2023, we introduced our AI and Sustainability Playbook, which highlights five foundational enabling conditions needed to unlock AI’s full transformative potential for accelerating sustainability progress. In January, we shared a report that highlights our progress and the innovations that have advanced each of those five pillars.

Building the AI economy of the future is a top priority for our business, but we are also in the business of sustainability. As CSO, it is my job to ensure that these dual mandates are working together.

Can the pope move the needle impact on climate change?

To achieve this, we need to run our sustainability initiatives like we run the rest of our business: ensuring that our focus is on the highest-impact interventions that truly move the needle when it comes to planetary impact.

We will also continue to invest in innovative climate solutions through our $1B Climate Innovation Fund (CIF). Since launching the CIF in 2020, Microsoft has committed nearly $800M to solutions ranging from sustainable fuels and low-carbon building materials to carbon dioxide removal, water innovation, and circular economy technologies. We now have a portfolio of 63 investees that we’re helping to scale. Going forward, we will extend this strategy and continue to invest our capital to build new markets and increase the market supply of emerging sustainable technologies to address carbon, water, and waste.

We are proud to continue making decisions that drive positive environmental impact in the market and deliver high-integrity investments. We remain resolute in our commitment to our climate goals and to empowering others with the technology needed to build a more sustainable future.

In my first year with Microsoft, I wrote a piece on LinkedIn: Removing Roadblocks in the Race to Net Zero, where I compared reaching our sustainability goals to training for a marathon, noting that “it will take focus, planning, and perseverance to reach the finish line.” Today—and now two years into my role—I would like to add another comparison, to an African proverb that says the following: “If you want to travel fast, travel alone; if you want to travel far, travel together.”

Hussein referred to an operations room formed by Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon at a recent meeting in Amman to confront IS, and said it would soon begin work.

The relationship between Iraq and Syria is somewhat fraught after the fall of former Syrian President Bashar Assad. Al-Sudani came to power with the support of a coalition of Iran-backed factions, and Tehran was a major backer of Assad. The current interim president of Syria, Ahmad al-Sharaa, was previously known as Abu Mohammed al-Golani and fought as an al-Qaida militant in Iraq after the U.S. invasion of 2003, and later fought against Assad’s government in Syria.

But Syrian interim Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani focused on the historic ties between the two countries.

The U.S. and Iraq announced an agreement last year to wind down the military mission in Iraq of an American-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group by September 2025, with U.S. forces departing some bases where they have stationed troops during a two-decade-long military presence in the country.

When the agreement was reached to end the coalition’s mission in Iraq, Iraqi political leaders said the threat of IS was under control and they no longer needed Washington’s help to beat back the remaining cells.

But the fall of Assad in December led some to reassess that stance, including members of the Coordination Framework, a coalition of mainly Shiite, Iran-allied political parties that brought current Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani to power in late 2022.

The Houthis reported fresh strikes on the southwestern Dhamar province late Saturday. They said the strikes hit the outskirts of the provincial capital, also named Dhamar, and the district of Abs.

The United States, Israel and Britain have previously hit Houthi-held areas in Yemen. Israel’s military declined to comment.

However, Saturday’s operation was conducted solely by the U.S., according to a U.S. official. It was the first strike on the Yemen-based Houthis under the second Trump administration.

Such broad-based missile strikes against the Houthis were carried out multiple times by the Biden administration in response to frequent attacks by the Houthis against commercial and military vessels in the region.

The USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group, which includes the carrier, three Navy destroyers and one cruiser, are in the Red Sea and were part of Saturday’s mission. The USS Georgia cruise missile submarine has also been operating in the region.

Trump announced the strikes as he spent the day at his Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.

“These relentless assaults have cost the U.S. and World Economy many BILLIONS of Dollars while, at the same time, putting innocent lives at risk,” Trump said.

Tesla car owners, dealerships and charging stations have been targeted nationwide in protest against electric carmaker CEO Elon Musk and his involvement with the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to slash wasteful spending and fraud within the federal government.

An Oregon Tesla dealership, located 10 miles south of Portland, was targeted by gunshots Thursday, damaging multiple cars and shattering windows. Earlier this month, a man was arrested after Molotov cocktails were thrown at a Tesla dealership in Salem, Oregon.

In Massachusetts, several Tesla charging stations were set on fire where more than half a dozen chargers were damaged. And last week, the U.S. attorney’s office in Colorado charged 42-year-old Lucy Grace Nelson, also known as Justin Thomas Nelson, after police say they found a number of explosives and concerning messages at a Colorado Tesla dealership.

The theme for 2025 year’s GYD is “ACT: A Community Transformed,” is a call to action that goes beyond a simple slogan. After our old Elders bring us into the Sacred Circle and Ceremony, our journey and life can take shape in the ways of our ancestors and healing way of life. Without our Elders, spiritual leaders, and teachers, it is hard to find our true strength and harmony in everyday life. Our ancestors gave us so much to move forward with in oneness with Creation and the natural world. In everyday life, the old Elders taught us to be Thanksgiving people.

[2] Hear this, ye old men, and give ear, all ye inhabitants of the land. Hath this been in your days, or even in the days of your fathers? [3] Tell ye your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children another generation.

Copy the way of life our Elders

All our Elders had to do was be themselves in everyday life, and when we were gathered in our Sacred Circle, the offerings were put into our Sacred Fire. The words, songs, and prayers would follow, so all the young people had to do was copy the way of life our Elders were living through our sacred ceremonies.

But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.1 Corinthians 10 : 20

After the Four Directions were acknowledged and all of our Elders had made their offering to our Sacred Fire, we would begin preparations to have breakfast, and afterwards Sacred Council would begin. Our oldest Elders would begin the day by sharing the culture of their homelands and bring greetings from their territories and birthplace. All Elders from across Canada and the USA at our ceremonies were focused on natural life, natural world, and all Creation was our family and extended family. Most important for our gatherings was to restore our culture and ceremonies to our communities, which were being affected by negativity and outside forces, such as a health crisis among Indigenous peoples of the Americas. Our youth had a chance to experience Elders from the Four Directions of Turtle Island come together to give Thanksgiving and honour all the life-giving forces of nature and all our relatives, fish, animals, insects, winged beings, relations, extended family, earth, air, fire, water, Mother Earth’s Blood.

Everyone who was there knew we were in a sacred place and it was a sacred time

Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

Our gatherings and ceremonies were the best place for our people to be with Elders from that generation that knew many original instructions and Traditions to share and pass onto to our youth and people. In the old days when we gathered to listen to our Elders, they knew this would carry our way of life forward and help restore our traditions. The year we gathered in Onondaga Territory, New York, in 1990, was my first year with our Elders, Chiefs, and Clan Mothers. It was so important for us to restore our culture and restore ourselves. Everyone who was there knew we were in a sacred place and it was a sacred time.

Vatican calls for a cultural revolution to fight climate change

In reality, all of our gatherings and ceremonies are for peace, healing, Thanksgiving, and to Honour the Life-Giving Forces, Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. Every time we gathered, it was a oneness with Mother Earth. Our Elders never stopped being humble and gentle. Once our sacred councils began, our old ones would walk to the Sacred Fire, make their offering, then begin to share their thoughts and feelings about what was happening back home on their reserves and territories. Some of our Elders would get on their knees and kiss Mother Earth before talking. Some Elders would offer sacred tobacco to the Four Directions in the fire. Everyone listened with the utmost respect because we were talking about Mother Earth and survival, our future generations, and how we were going to protect Mother Earth from harm’s way.

The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.

At one point, our women asked to have their own circle to honour Mother Earth’s blood, water, and to have their own Sacred Pipe Ceremony with the Grandmothers. Our Grandmothers explained we are the water, rain, snow, ice, rivers, lakes, oceans, aquifers. The water is the blood of our Sacred Mother’s Body. We are made of water, they said, we belong to Mother Earth and we come from Mother Earth.

The Grandmothers knew back in the day that Mother Earth was being polluted and contaminated by the mining industry and logging corporations for self-gains and big profits. Now, the fish life was being washed up on the shores and whales dying everywhere. National Geographic had front page stories about how back in the day, climate change was melting the glaciers. The violence and disrespect to Mother Earth’s blood by society was killing life and Indigenous culture.

In rejecting the truth, men reject its Author. In trampling upon the law of God, they deny the authority of the Law-giver. It is as easy to make an idol of false doctrines and theories as to fashion an idol of wood or stone. By misrepresenting the attributes of God, Satan leads men to conceive of Him in a false character. With many, a philosophical idol is enthroned in the place of Jehovah; while the living God, as He is revealed in His word, in Christ, and in the works of creation, is worshiped by but few. Thousands deify nature while they deny the God of nature. Though in a different form, idolatry exists in the Christian world today as verily as it existed among ancient Israel in the days of Elijah. The god of many professedly wise men, of philosophers, poets, politicians, journalists—the god of polished fashionable circles, of many colleges and universities, even of some theological institutions—is little better than Baal, the sun-god of Phoenicia. GC 583.1

The Grandmothers brought copper pots of pure clean water into their circle. They began to share a large basket of water among each other, drinking from the same basket of water. The whole area was filled with smoke from abalone shells, while sage burned around their circle. Their circle had grown to over a hundred women and Grandmothers. Many men could not hold back their tears as the Grandmothers held up the copper pots filled with water to the sky. The Grandmothers were crying now; their daughters were standing with them, crying, too; even babies were in their circle, and around their circle, the men’s circle surrounded them for support and protection. Soon, the daughters were speaking, saying everything here is what our Creator put here for us, his children, to look after. Everything on Mother Earth was put here for us to use and take care of: trees, plants, gardens, forests, animals, winged ones, fish life, even insects. We are human beings, the voice for all of Creation. We are the life-givers, we must respect the water, so our children can follow our footsteps, our Original Instructions. When the Grandmothers stopped talking and passing water, they began to drum and sing Water Songs. The air was filled with drumming from our women singing together; even our men joined in, the ones who knew the songs. It was all to help and heal our sacred Mother Earth because we all knew she was suffering.

All this took place in Onondaga Territory, the place where Handsome Lake was buried. We had Sweat Lodges set up ready when we would go back into the womb of our Sacred Mother Earth. It was the most beautiful thing I remember, when we all came out and the next day it all started again until our gathering was over. We had many Elders from Turtle Mountain, North Dakota, Ojibwe people who brought so many of their families to our camp back in the old days. We had so many tribes in our ceremonies back in the day. This life was passed onto us from generation to generation, Elder to Elder: we were now living our ancestors’ dream to carry on our way of life.

Our Grandmothers said the great Creator gave us Indigenous people everything we need to survive here on Turtle Island. All we need to do is give Thanksgiving and respect Creation and the natural world. Mother Earth will take care of her children as long as we take care of her.

Donald Trump on Tuesday told Congress Elon Musk had rooted out “hundred of billions of dollars” worth of government waste thanks to Doge.

Reeling off a long list of examples of apparent misspending, Mr Trump said that $45 million had been spent on diversity, equity, and inclusion scholarships in Burma, $20 million on the Arab version of Sesame Street – and “$8 million for making mice transgender”.

“This is real,” he said.

Left-wing media outlets were quick to dismiss the claims as misinformation. After the White House released a statement branding CNN “fake news losers”, the outlet issued a correction to its fact check of Mr Trump’s speech, stating that “an earlier version of this item incorrectly characterised as false Trump’s claim”.

A further experiment at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre allegedly spent $300,000 investigating breast cancer risk for transgender people by looking at tumours in mice.

A study at Emory University funded by NIH also allegedly spent $735,000 evaluating the contribution of the gut microbiome towards gender affirming hormone therapy in mice.
