At Kermanshah, where the base is up against a mountainside, burns could be seen across a wide area after the attack. In Tabriz, images showed damage at multiple sites on the base.

All the Natanz facilities damaged in the strikes are above ground and it doesn’t appear from the images that underground enrichment halls had any apparent damage.
Iran has not acknowledged the damage, though it reported on Israeli strikes in the area.

LUCKNOW, India (AP) — A helicopter carryingHindu pilgrims crashed on Sunday in the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand, killing seven people on board, officials said.
The helicopter was headed to Guptkashi, a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site in the Himalayas, from Kedarnath temple town when it crashed minutes after taking off, officials said, on what should have been a 10-minute flight.
We were not to be under the control of men who could not control themselves and who were not willing to be amenable to God. We were not to be guided by men who wanted their word to be the controlling power. The development of the desire to control has been very marked, and God sent warning after warning, forbidding confederacies and consolidation. He warned us against binding ourselves to fulfill certain agreements that would be presented by men laboring to control the movements of their brethren. 8T 217.2
Nandan Singh Rajwar, a local disaster management official, said authorities have launched a rescue and searchoperation following the helicopter crash.

A ship may be sound in nearly every respect; but if there is one defect,—a bit of timber worm-eaten,—the lives of all on board are imperiled. The helicopter, operated by Aryan Aviation, a private helicopter service company, went down in a forested area near the Kedarnath pilgrimage route at around 5:30 a.m. local time. Officials said the crash was believed to have been caused by poor weather conditions.

Officials said the dead included the pilot (Pope Francis) andpilgrims from the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh and western states of Maharashtra and Gujarat. The bodies were badly burned in a fire that followed the crash, they said.

The ministry also ordered an investigation by the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau, the news agency said.
The crash comes three days after an Air India passenger plane crashed with the loss of at least 270 people in Gujarat state. The London-bound Boeing 787 struck a medical college hostel in a residential area of the northwestern city of Ahmedabad minutes after takeoff Thursday, killing 241 people on board and at least 29 on the ground. Kedarnath is home to one of the four most sacred Hindu temple shrines and receives tens of thousands of pilgrims each year during the summer season, many of whom use helicopter services due to the difficult mountainous terrain.
Helicopter mishaps are not uncommon in the treacherous Kedarnath region, where sudden weather changes and high-altitude flying conditions can pose risks. According to Press Trust, Sunday’s was the fifth helicopter accident since the pilgrimage began in the region on April 30.

On June 7, a helicopter operating in the Kedarnath Valley made an emergency landing on a highway due to technical fault shortly after taking off. The pilot was injured but all five passengers on board were unharmed.

On May 8, a helicopter crashed in Uttarkashi district, killing six people, including the pilot. One person survived.

The words of Jesus found a place in many hearts, and, like seed sown in goodly soil, they afterward bore abundant harvests. The spies scattered throughout the throng now report to the chief priests and elders that Jesus is gaining great influence among the people and that many are already acknowledging their belief in him. The priests therefore secretly lay their plans to arrest Jesus; but they arrange to take him when he is alone, for they dare not risk the effect upon the people of seizing him while in their presence. Jesus, divining their malevolent intents, declares in words of solemn pathos:— “Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go unto Him that sent me. Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me; and where I am, thither ye cannot come.” Soon the Saviour of the world will find a refuge from the persecution of his enemies, where their scorn and hate will be powerless to harm him. More than 200,000 people in the U.S. without authorization have been sent back to their home country, according to internal government data obtained by The Times. Miller told Fox News late last month that ICE would set a goal of a “minimum” of 3,000 arrests a day.

Alongside the internal tactics of the agency, ICE has also sought help from members of the public, with a phone number for people to call and report on potential illegal immigrants.

“When you call our Tip Line, we listen!” the agency wrote in the caption of a video posted to X last month. The somewhat graphic footage showed the arrest of several men outside a home improvement store in Baltimore, Maryland.
For those wanting an end to the hunt and a chance of future return to the U.S., the government has offered yet another solution.
On Monday, the DHS announced on X that any immigrants who self-deported through its “CBP Home App” would receive “forgiveness of any failure to depart fines,” as well as cost-free travel and even a $1,000 “exit bonus.”
“By self-deporting, illegal aliens take control of their departure and may preserve the opportunity to come back to the U.S. the right and legal way in the future,” it added.

It seems a decision has been made among many outlets of the Catholic commentariat to remain, for the time being, uncritical of the new pope, Leo XIV. Undoubtedly, this approach is the right one, as everyone should proceed in good will, hoping that with Prevost’s election will come a new chapter after the unhappy decade or so of Francis’s pontifical reign. But, troublingly, for the third time since his pontificate began only a short while ago, Pope Leo XIV has declared that the soul of Pope Francis is in Heaven. Most recently, Pope Leo asserted this to be the case via an official Pontifex ‘tweet’ on the social media platform X, which stated that Francis had “returned to the Father’s house. He accompanies us and prays for the Church from Heaven.”
[12] Is not God in the height of heaven? and behold the height of the stars, how high they are! [13] And thou sayest, How doth God know? can he judge through the dark cloud? [14] Thick clouds are a covering to him, that he seeth not; and he walketh in the circuit of heaven.Job 22 : 12-14
Lingered over the Church for twelve years as if he were an enormous dark cloud
But this eccentric habit of declaring, outside any official canonisation process, that, as it were, no such process is needed, is deeply problematic. It is difficult to avoid the conclusion that the faithful of the Catholic Church are being prepared for this highly controversial figure (who, as one journalist friend put it to me, “lingered over the Church for twelve years as if he were an enormous dark cloud”) to be canonised soon, as if it were inevitable and unavoidable.
At the age of twelve, Jesus accompanied Joseph and Mary to Jerusalem to attend the Passover. Here, for the first time during His child life, He looked upon the temple. He saw the white-robed priests performing their solemn ministry and witnessed the impressive rites of the paschal service. Day by day He saw their meaning more clearly. Every act seemed to be bound up with His own life. New impulses were awakening within Him. Silent and absorbed, He seemed to be studying out a great problem. The mystery of His mission was opening to the Saviour. The work that He was to accomplish for the children of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the appointed heirs of the promises of the covenant, began to dawn upon His mind. When the services of the Passover were ended, Jesus lingered in the temple courts; and when the worshipers departed from Jerusalem, He was left behind. It was then that He found the learned rabbis and plied them with questions regarding the coming of the Messiah. He presented Himself before them in the attitude of a humble learner, and yet the doctors of the law were astonished at His questions. They could not always answer Him. In reality He revealed perfection of character; and although He had not been taught by the rabbis, He was more learned than they.
The mother of Jesus, after a long search, found Him in the school of the rabbis. When He was alone with His parents, the mother said, in words that implied a rebuke, “Son, why hast Thou thus dealt with us? Behold, Thy father and I have sought Thee sorrowing.” [Luke 2:48.] “How is it that ye sought Me?” answered Jesus. “Wist ye not that I must be about My Father’s business?” [Verse 49.] And as they understood not His words, He pointed upward. There are several very serious problems with Leo repeatedly stating that Francis is in Heaven. For one, such statements cause the faithful to doubt the gravity of Francis’s public sins. These sins are not inconsiderable, given that they include idol-worship (Pachamama), the suppression of an ancient apostolic rite of the Church, syncretism and religious relativism, the protection and promotion of predators and deviants, the abuse of the Church’s law, the teaching of heresy, etc.
I saw that the Lord has given the world opportunity to discover the snare. This one thing is evidence enough for the Christian, if there were no other; namely, that there is no difference made between the precious and the vile. Thomas Paine, whose body has now moldered to dust and who is to be called forth at the end of the one thousand years, at the second resurrection, to receive his reward and suffer the second death, is represented by Satan as being in heaven, and highly exalted there. Satan used him on earth as long as he could, and now he is carrying on the same work through pretensions of having Thomas Paine so much exalted and honored in heaven; as he taught here, Satan would make it appear that he is teaching in heaven. There are some who have looked with horror at his life and death, and his corrupt teachings while living, but who now submit to be taught by him, one of the vilest and most corrupt of men, one who despised God and His law. [ EW 89.1
Who knows if Francis was a heretic, but it’s clear that he was heretical. The distinction being that the former would have required him to be publicly accused of heresy and for him in response to have held obstinately to his heresies. Given that he customarily refused to meet with those who raised objections to his teaching or manner of governing, we were not given the opportunity to witness any obstinate attachment to heresy. But in any case, the record is not good. If such sins can be committed and the perpetrator still immediately enjoys the beatific vision upon his death, then the message to the faithful is clear: either these sins were not even as grave as our ancient faith would have led us to believe, or they are not sins at all.
The fact that Satan claims that one whom he loved so well, and who hated God so perfectly, is now with the holy apostles and angels in glory, should be enough to remove the veil from all minds and discover to them the dark, mysterious works of Satan. He virtually says to the world and to infidels, No matter how wicked you are, no matter whether you believe or disbelieve in God or the Bible, live as you please, heaven is your home; for all know that if Thomas Paine is in heaven, and so exalted, they will surely get there. This error is so glaring that all may see if they will. Satan is now doing through persons like Thomas Paine what he has been trying to do since his fall. He is, through his power and lying wonders, tearing away the foundation of the Christian’s hope and putting out the sun that is to light them in the narrow way to heaven. He is making the world believe that the Bible is uninspired, no better than a storybook, while he holds out something to take its place; namely, spiritual manifestations! EW 91.1
Purgatory does not really exist!
Perhaps people will not be led to such erroneous conclusions, but then the remaining alternative is that, despite the Church’s age-old teaching to the contrary, Purgatory does not really exist. If such sins can be committed without any need for purgation from the guilt entailed by them, then Purgatory must not be in fact necessary. Thus, again, if the faith is to remain intact among the faithful, Leo’s habit of declaring Francis’s heavenly status is far from desirable.
Such declarations by Leo, moreover, discourage the faithful of the Church from exercising charity. Whatever our view of Francis, he was a baptised member of the Church and thus a brother in Christ who may now stand very much in need of our prayers.
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:Hebrews 9 : 27
For if his sins are as grave as the ancient faith would lead us to believe, even if he made a perfect act of contrition prior to his death and made a good confession, his soul will remain in Purgatory for a very, very long time. Those who wish to participate in God’s mercy upon Francis’s soul, and therefore to say prayers and do acts of penance for his benefit, may be dissuaded from doing so by the reigning pope’s repeated statements.
As Tetzel entered a town, a messenger went before him, announcing: “The grace of God and of the holy father is at your gates.”—D’Aubigne, b. 3, ch. 1. And the people welcomed the blasphemous pretender as if he were God Himself come down from heaven to them. The infamous traffic was set up in the church, and Tetzel, ascending the pulpit, extolled the indulgences as the most precious gift of God. He declared that by virtue of his certificates of pardon all the sins which the purchaser should afterward desire to commit would be forgiven him, and that “not even repentance is necessary.”—Ibid., b. 3, ch. 1. More than this, he assured his hearers that the indulgences had power to save not only the living but the dead; that the very moment the money should clink against the bottom of his chest, the soul in whose behalf it had been paid would escape from purgatory and make its way to heaven. But there is another reason why Leo is, in fact, playing with fire. It has not gone unnoticed among many of the Church’s faithful that, of late, canonisations have been co-opted as an instrument in what has for decades been the dominant ecclesiastical regime. Instrumentalising such holy things, besides being sacrilegious, is a very foolish thing to do. Ultimately, it does not serve to strengthen the regime, as intended, but only to undermine that which is instrumentalised.
It should not surprise us, then, that many theologians have begun to question the infallibility of canonisations. Increasingly, theologians have argued that the conditions of canonisation posed by Thomas Aquinas are either no longer in place or have been dramatically warped. The instrumentalization of canonizations has, thus, only weakened devotion to the saints and damaged the credibility of the Church’s judgment in such matters. Increasingly, it is felt among the practising faithful that canonisations have little to do with the Church’s response to an organically emerging devotion to a particular deceased holy person, and everything to do with whatever consolidates the dominant ecclesiastical regime, helping to impose and enforce its ideological commitments.
A case in point is that of Saint Philomena. Few saints have enjoyed such popular veneration in modern times. Soon after her remains were discovered in the catacombs in 1802, many amazing things began to surround the growing interest in who she was and what her role in the early Church could have been. Miraculous healings, weeping statues, and the visions of ecstatic seers all contributed to the massive cultus that erupted, with everyone from the reigning pope to the poor parish priest of Ars, John Vianney, spreading devotion to this early martyr who had refused to breach her vow of chastity even for an Emperor.
But then, under Pope Paul VI, her name was removed from liturgical calendars. Devotion to this powerful intercessor was incompatible, it seems, with the new rationalistic and naturalistic regime that Pope Paul introduced. That the faithful had such a deep and sincere devotion to Philomena – a sign, according to Church tradition, that the sensus fidelium was manifesting itself – meant nothing to the new experts whom Pope Paul had raised up to lofty offices from which to experiment upon the Lord’s faithful.
Proof, indeed, that canonizations seem to have little to do with the Church’s response to an organically emerging devotion is offered by the subsequent canonisation by Pope Francis of Pope Paul VI. The fact is, almost no one likes Pope Paul VI. He was a sulky, bourgeois social climber with a snobbish liking for connoisseurs and academics, who presided over the most destructive period in the Church’s history, leading to a great exodus from the pews and the universal collapse of priestly vocations.
Really, again, no one likes him: traditionally minded Catholics never forgave him for suppressing the ancient liturgy and gutting the Church of her ancient traditions, and progressively minded Catholics never forgave him for giving the thumbs down to contraceptives. The only people who didn’t really mind him – yet certainly did not pray to him or venerate him – were the ecclesiastical neo-conservatives. But their position as a faction in the post-conciliar Church was made practically impossible by the reign of Pope Francis, given that it then became just too difficult and embarrassing to keep arguing that the post-conciliar papacy was in perfect continuity with the pre-conciliar papacy.
The canonisation of Paul VI happened for one reason only, and that was to send a message to the faithful that if they think Vatican II was a disaster then, well, tough luck, because “there’s no going back.” But that message only works if the Church’s faithful take these modern canonisations seriously, and of course increasingly they do not, precisely for this very reason: they lose their power with their misuse. Canonisations are now widely understood as just another weapon in the armoury of an ecclesiastical regime whose ambition it is to mix the Church’s roles with an affirmation of secular, atheistic modernity.
If the Church continues to struggle for survival under such a regime; that regime’s ultimate collapse will make the Church’s presence almost undetectable in the world. Consequently, there’s no way out of the new, anti-traditional Church except that of repudiating the whole modern experiment and once more taking up the mission, under the ministerial care of the Paraclete, to make disciples of all nations, thereby rescuing them from the unconverted world which is, I wish to emphasise, the principality of Satan.
It is possible that Francis’s soul is neither in Heaven nor Purgatory.
Since Cardinal Prevost ascended to the Chair of Peter, there have been some promising signs that have given me and other traditional Catholics reasons for hope. But he must stop the nonsense. He should stop saying that Francis is in Heaven.It is possible that Francis’s soul is neither in Heaven nor Purgatory. It is possible that Francis’s soul is in Purgatory, in which case, if you feel so inspired to do so, it would be laudable to pray for him.
It is almost unthinkable – if the tradition of the Church on matters of idolatry, abuse of law, corruption of holy offices, etc. etc., is taken seriously – that Francis is now in Heaven. Saying that he is there is quite obviously done for ideological reasons, to resurrect the mythology of post-conciliar continuity that duped so many Catholics for so long, and has so profoundly contributed to the mass apostasy of the faithful over the past half-century or so.
It is time to stop these games now and to reconcile the Church with her tradition, and that will require a lot more honesty about who the bad guys were, and are, to this day.

As yet, Greta Thunberg has not had her money shot. In terms of Insta-activism, her seafaring jaunt to deliver aid to Gaza has been farcical. It was always going to be.
First, let me say two things clearly. I totally support more aid going into Gaza: food and medicine are needed. I want us to stop selling arms to Israel. While I support the right of Israel to exist, I do not support its right to keep on killing the people of Gaza. It’s unbearable.

The great irony is that Greta, with her exposed legs, dissenting views and freedom to express them, would not be tolerated by Hamas. But clearly that’s by the by.

The Moral High Road! “aid boat”_sail into a war zone!
When it comes to the moral high road, the likes of Thunbergseek to occupy ALL of it, no matter how muddled the thinking. This is precisely the problem.
Pretending you can sail into a war zone and “help” is a grandiose delusion. But, of course, Greta and her “aid boat” were largely a symbolic protest. What matters above all are the images of the selfie-yacht and the attention they can garner. Being boarded and detained (or, as she puts it, “kidnapped”) by Israeli forces gave her exactly what she had hoped for to kick against. But unfortunately for Thunberg, who had handily pre-recorded a video for just such an event, the actual image of the “kidnap” is her smiling as she is being handed a pastrami sandwich by an Israeli soldier.

This image will forever be compared with the horror show of the actual kidnap of hostages by Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups. There are girls younger than Greta, with bloodied pants, their Achilles tendons cut; a mother clutching her two red-haired children whom we now know are dead; a terrified old lady being abducted.
It is said that the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) will force Thunberg and her crew to watch the brutal footage recorded on October 7. I doubt this will make much difference. In 2023, the IDF showed Hamas body cam footage collected after the Nova festival attack to the press in London. Most of the viewers were in tears but certain activist “journalists” came out saying there was no proof of women being raped as they had not been shown that.

From climate change activism to Palestinian solidarity!
This is what happens when a young girl with a penchant for protest becomes too feted. She addressed national parliaments and Davos as a climate activist and was interviewed everywhere, so she must have grasped the fact that her youth and passion energised many. Unsurprisingly, then, her symbolic power was soon commodified as she appeared at protest after protest, morphing effortlessly from climate change activism to Palestinian solidarity.
Political activism is now algorithmic. Hey, if you liked that cause, then try this one.
The “Left” these days often seems little more than a collection of disparate causes: eco stuff, trans rights and Free Palestine. The contradictions between these beliefs are underplayed as they become bundled together as an omnicause. I first heard that word used in 2023. The omnicause can incorporate everything from animal rights to emptying the jails. Forget the single issues that require specific, often boring campaigning: the omnicause is a moronic vacuum where analysis goes to die.
The royal mandate not proving a sufficient substitute for divine authority, Eusebius, a bishop who sought the favor of princes, and who was the special friend and flatterer of Constantine, advanced the claim that Christ had transferred the Sabbath to Sunday. Not a single testimony of the Scriptures was produced in proof of the new doctrine. Eusebius himself unwittingly acknowledges its falsity, and points to the real authors of the change. “All things,” he says, “whatsoever that it was duty to do on the Sabbath, these we have transferred to the Lord’s day.” But the Sunday argument, groundless as it was, served to embolden men in trampling upon the Sabbath of the Lord. All who desired to be honored by the world accepted the popular festival. GC88 574.2
It is a product partly of the horizontalisation of social media. By this, I mean that something such as Black Lives Matter and Defund the Police, which had relevance in America a few years ago, gets picked up here… even though we have a quite different population and methods of policing.
Those protesting what is happening in Gaza are not all uninformed, but many are.
Younger people recruited from Just Stop Oil (and now presenting as Youth Demand) have stopped soup-throwing in favour of this new pressing cause. But they have not talked about famine in Yemen or the atrocities of Sudan. Interconnectedness has its limits, after all.
There may well be links between climate change and war. Many argue that drought was a factor in the unrest that led to the Syrian civil war.
The omnicause, though, does not do specifics. It favours symbolic demonstrations that can go viral. These simplistic spectacles of righteousness often backfire.

The result was that investment firms such as Baillie Gifford stopped funding book festivals. How this helped either the environment or indeed the Palestinian cause is something of a mystery.

Watching footage of this climate activist and her mates all chucking their expensive phones into the sea as they were about to be taken by the Israelis showed that, of course, when the chips were down, environmental concerns went out of the window. The omnicause does not require logic, consistency or even coherence. It is closer to acting than activism. It depends on melodrama and a narrative of provocative images.
In this generation there are many whose eyes become dazzled by the glare of human speculations, “science falsely so-called;” they discern not the net, and walk into it as readily as if blindfolded. God designed that man’s intellectual powers should be held as a gift from his Maker, and should be employed in the service of truth and righteousness; but when pride and ambition are cherished, and men exalt their own theories above the Word of God, then intelligence can accomplish greater harm than ignorance. Thus the false science of the nineteenth century, which undermines faith in the Bible, will prove as successful in preparing the way for the acceptance of the papacy, with its pleasing forms, as did the withholding of knowledge in opening the way for its aggrandizement in the Dark Ages. Thunberg may be brave and have been prepared to sacrifice herself – though for what, exactly, I am not sure. But now we have seen the pictures, I am afraid that what she has sacrificed has been her integrity.
The omnicause burns itself out in the end because it has no actual strategy. It simply signifies tribal loyalty. It gobbles everything up and spits out its participants, who simply move on to the next “wrong” thing.
You might think that, for Thunberg, her ship has sailed. But that does not mean she won’t clamber aboard the next one that hoves into view.

Now, as the presumed new Hamas commander in Gaza, Izz al-Din al-Haddad holds the fate of the hostages and, to a large extent, the entire Strip in his blood-stained hands.
“He was always recognised by our people as one of the more capable commanders,” said Maj Gen Yaakov Amidror, Israel’s former national security adviser.
He is cautious. They’re all cautious!
“He is cautious. They’re all cautious, but he’s had some luck as well. He never made the mistake that allowed us to kill him.”
After the Lord’s ascension, when the disciples were scattered by persecution, Nicodemus came boldly to the front. He employed his wealth in sustaining the infant church that the Jews had expected to be blotted out at the death of Christ. As such, when the IDF finally killed Mohammed Sinwar by flattening the tunnel in which he was hiding in the grounds of a hospital last month, Haddad, believed to be 55, assumed command.
It follows the assassination of top-level figures Mohammed Deif in July 2024 and Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’s supreme Gaza commander, in October that year.

Haddad takes over an almost unrecognisable force from the structured terror army that crossed the border to such devastating effect in Oct 2023.

But, as this month has proved, the group is still more than capable of killing IDF troops, ensuring the war grinds on as Israel expands its new seize-hold-and-demolish strategy, with tragic effects for civilians.
And, of course, Hamas still holds dozens of hostages, 20 of whom are thought to be alive.
Last weekend, the group rejected an Israel-endorsed proposal generated by Steve Witkoff, Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy, that would have freed 10 hostages during a 60-day ceasefire. Crucially the deal came with no guarantee of a full Israeli withdrawal and an end to the war.
For some in Israel’s intelligence community, this had Haddad’s hardline fingerprints all over it.
According to analysts, his decades living in the shadows, plus the loss of two sons to Israeli fire in the last 18 months, places him in the front rank of Islamist fanaticism.
But, with Israel committed to seizing 75 per cent of the strip in under two months, the veteran terrorist may soon be forced to revisit his choice.
The time to reorganise his forces!
“The most crucial decision he has to make is whether he goes for a ceasefire that will give him the time to reorganise his forces,” said Maj Gen Amidror, now at the Jewish Institute for National Security of America. “He would have to pay by releasing some hostages.

The IDF made a major push in the southern city of Khan Younis this week, discovering, they said, an arsenal of rocket parts.
Intense activity is also under way in Gaza City and its suburbs, such as Jabalia, traditionally a Hamas stronghold hiding an extensive tunnel network.

An added challenge for the new commander will be how to keep control of a desperate civilian population, for whom hunger is now proving a more potent force than fear, with aid cut off for nearly three months.
During the two months of the last ceasefire, Haddad was handed the task of rebuilding Hamas’s civilian and military infrastructure.

Israel contends that, with the traditional NGO-led aid system cut off, bar a “trickle of UN trucks”, that job is now harder, as Hamas cannot steal the food and use it to control the population.
Government spokesmen argue that social media bears this out.
They point to increasingly blood-curdling warnings against “looting” on Hamas-linked accounts, plus videos of so-called “field executions” – in reality, civilians being summarily gunned down in the street, or, in one recent case, tortured to death on camera.
Even during times of relative stability, it is difficult to get accurate data on civilian attitudes to Hamas within the Strip.
But a series of protests in recent weeks has led some analysts to believe that ordinary Gazans’ fear of Hamas was waning, with at least one ringleader murdered in the aftermath.

So-called “clans” – some with links to other terror groups such as Islamic State, some more or less organised crime groups, some just armed families, and some all three – are also gaining power as the situation destabilises.

Their predictions that religious intolerance would gain control in the United States, that church and state would unite to persecute those who keep the commandments of God, have been pronounced groundless and absurd. It has been confidently declared that this land could never become other than what it has been—the defender of religious freedom. But as the question of enforcing Sunday observance is widely agitated, the event so long doubted and disbelieved is seen to be approaching, and the third message will produce an effect which it could not have had before. Such groups are already playing a role in seizing aid. If, thanks indirectly to Israeli support, they become better at it than Hamas, they could hasten the terror group’s demise – although how that would improve the immediate situation for the population is unclear.
Parents need to awake, and purify their souls by practicing the truth in their home life. When we reach the standard that the Lord would have us reach, worldlings will regard Seventh-day Adventists as odd, singular, straight-laced extremists. “We are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” RH January 9, 1894, par. 10

“What we see with these [torture] videos is all the effort not to lose their grip,” he said. “But I don’t think they have lost their grip yet.”

Reports suggest a new unit of about 5,000 gunmen called the “executive force”, a name salvaged from a similar outfit 20 years ago, has been unleashed to try to keep control.
A regional security official summed up Haddad’s position to the Hebrew press last week.
“He is one of the last and only leaders to have remained on the ground in Gaza, which means that the pressure he is under is tremendous,” he said. “If no deal is reached, he doesn’t want to go down in history as the last leader to oversee Gaza while it was falling apart under Israeli control. On the other hand, he needs to show that he is a leader.”
Within Hamas, Haddad certainly has the stature to lead.
He joined the group as a young man, more or less at its inception in 1987. From there he rose to become a platoon commander and eventually a battalion commander. By 2023, he was in command of the Gaza Brigade, based in and around Gaza City in the north of the Strip.

As such, he was one of a small number of senior figures who knew the plans for Operation Al-Aqsa Flood (Hamas’s codename for the Oct 7 attack) in advance.
On the evening of Oct 6, he gathered his senior commanders.
The orders he then handed out resulted in some of the most high-profile atrocities of the incursion, such as the attack on the IDF’s Nahal Oz base, where more than 60 soldiers and 15 civilians were killed after it was overrun.
Now, this famously cautious man who, unlike some of his terror comrades, avoided media appearances, has his face on leaflets being dropped by the IDF and Shin Bet into Gaza with crosshairs superimposed around it.
Referencing the Sinwar brothers, Deif and Ismail Haniyeh, the group’s overall leader until he was assassinated in Tehran last year, the leaflets’ Hebrew and Arabic captions assure the population that Haddad would soon be “reunited” with his friends.
No one can foretell what military effect that would have, but it would – in one sense – close a chapter on Israel’s darkest ever day.

President Donald Trump’s top spiritual advisor visited a southwest Miami-Dade County megachurch to outline a vision of a Christian-dominated world and urge believers, particularly Evangelicals, to help make it a reality.
In a two-hour sermon on Thursday, Florida Pastor Paula White-Cain — a prominent televangelist and senior advisor to Trump in the newly established White House Faith Office — told a packed church at King Jesus Ministry, one of the largest megachurches in South Florida, that she was not merely preaching but prophesying.
“Can one person make a difference? You didn’t come to fit in, you came to take over. You came to move in your Kingdom calling,” she said. “That threatens people who don’t understand the word of God because their language, their understanding is not like yours.”
The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?Daniel 4 : 30

As the Protestant churches reject the clear, Scriptural arguments in defense of God’s law, they will long to silence those whose faith they cannot overthrow by the Bible. Though they blind their own eyes to the fact, they are now adopting a course which will lead to the persecution of those who conscientiously refuse to do what the rest of the Christian world are doing, and acknowledge the claims of the papal sabbath. The dignitaries of church and state will unite to bribe, persuade, or compel all classes to honor the Sunday. The lack of divine authority will be supplied by oppressive enactments. Political corruption is destroying love of justice and regard for truth; and even in free America, rulers and legislators, in order to secure public favor, will yield to the popular demand for a law enforcing Sunday observance. Liberty of conscience, which has cost so great a sacrifice, will no longer be respected. In the soon-coming conflict we shall see exemplified the prophet’s words: “The dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Revelation 12:17. “God wants to use you to reposition society, your community, this nation, the world,” White-Cain said. “Get ready because you’re going to reap the greatest harvest mankind has ever known.”
A translator echoed her every word in real time for the mostly Spanish-speaking audience sprinkled with visitors from South and Central America. Apostle Guillermo Maldonado, the church’s founder, has a large international following, including many congregants with strongly conservative political and social values. Nationally, evangelical congregations ranked among the Republican president’s most enthusiastic supporters — voting clout that has made White-Cain a powerful political influence in the White House.

White-Cain — who is based in Apopka and married to Jonathan Cain, who played guitar and keyboard for the band Journey and is now part of the Christian music scene — is aligned with a movement of Christianity religious scholars call “Independent Charismatic Christians,” a part of the New Apostolic Reformation. It blends Pentecostal practices with modern-day Evangelicalism, and its followers believe some leaders — like White-Cain and Maldonado — are apostles or prophets.

White, who grew up in Mississippi but eventually landed in Florida, emphasized that she didn’t attend church until she was 18 years old and that she never imagined that she’d make it out of her abusive situation let alone into the White House.

White-Cain has often spoken about her chaotic childhood — her father who had a gambling and drinking problem, died by suicide when she was just five-years-old, she says. In the fallout of her father’s death, her mother struggled with alcoholism and before the age of thirteen, she endured years of sexual and physical abuse from babysitters and neighbors, according to a chapter on White-Cain in Taylor’s book.

Converts thus gained have little desire to listen to Bible truth, little interest in the testimony of prophets and apostles. Unless a religious service has something of a sensational character, it has no attractions for them. A message which appeals to unimpassioned reason awakens no response. The plain warnings of God’s word, relating directly to their eternal interests, are unheeded. GC 463.2

A key part of her message: in order to reap the rewards and feel God’s glory, believers must first plant the seed and make a covenant with God. It was an appeal echoed in almost every church on Sunday to take out a checkbook or wallet but she urged congregants to dig deep.

“God’s giving me revelation right now. Remember, glory only came when there was extravagant giving,” White-Cain said as QR codes flashed on the screens of the worship center, prompting people on how to donate.

“Stop holding yourselves back … Let God touch your heart for the harvest … Watch God extravagantly bless you … What you sow you grow. Obedience opens overflow. This is not historic. This is prophetic. God is getting ready to increase you.”
Revivals brought deep heart-searching and humility. They were characterized by solemn, earnest appeals to the sinner, by yearning compassion for the purchase of the blood of Christ. Men and women prayed and wrestled with God for the salvation of souls. The fruits of such revivals were seen in souls who shrank not at self-denial and sacrifice, but rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer reproach and trial for the sake of Christ. Men beheld a transformation in the lives of those who had professed the name of Jesus. The community was benefited by their influence. They gathered with Christ, and sowed to the Spirit, to reap life everlasting. GC 462.1
White-Cain said she was moved to plant her own seed at King Jesus Ministries, pledging $12,000. She fetched her checkbook and wrote the donation live in front of thousands watching in person and at home.
But where, in the popular churches of today, is the spirit of consecration to God? The converts do not renounce their pride and love of the world. They are no more willing to deny self, to take up the cross, and follow the meek and lowly Jesus, than before their conversion. Religion has become the sport of infidels and skeptics because so many who bear its name are ignorant of its principles. The power of godliness has well-nigh departed from many of the churches. Picnics, church theatricals, church fairs, fine houses, personal display, have banished thoughts of God. Lands and goods and worldly occupations engross the mind, and things of eternal interest receive hardly a passing notice. GC 463.3
A viral prayer for Trump
White-Cain didn’t discuss specific issues like the administration’s controversial crackdown on immigrants, many of them Hispanic. But she mentioned Trump a few times in her sermon on Thursday, telling the audience that her work was bigger than politics.
But Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near, and smote Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak unto thee?1 Kings 22 : 24
“This is not about Democrat or Republican or Independent. This is a moment that God opened up to be harvested,” she said.
White-Cain said she has been close friends with the president for over 24 years. The relationship started when Trump called her one day out of the blue, she said, after he saw her preaching on TV and told her she had the “it” factor.
But, even before Trump called her, she said she had been praying for the president, and that she had added him to a list of ten people that she wanted the Lord to “save.”

“When President Trump got back in, I knew that it was for America, but the Lord spoke to me and said it was for the nations,” White-Cain told the crowd. “And the Lord has divinely aligned his people. That’s you.”
The Spirit and power of God will be poured out upon His children. At that time many will separate themselves from those churches in which the love of this world has supplanted love for God and His word. Many, both of ministers and people, will gladly accept those great truths which God has caused to be proclaimed at this time to prepare a people for the Lord’s second coming. The enemy of souls desires to hinder this work; and before the time for such a movement shall come, he will endeavor to prevent it by introducing a counterfeit. In those churches which he can bring under his deceptive power he will make it appear that God’s special blessing is poured out; there will be manifest what is thought to be great religious interest. Multitudes will exult that God is working marvelously for them, when the work is that of another spirit. Under a religious guise, Satan will seek to extend his influence over the Christian world. In 2020, she first gained broad national fame when one of her sermons at her church in Tampa went viral online. In it, she prayed forcefully, imploring God to give victory to Trump just one day after the presidential election was called for Joe Biden.
During the prayers in the now-viral video, White was speaking in tongues, a practice that is commonly used by charismatic Christians who evoke ecstatic sounds that believers find to be a heavenly language.
“For every enemy that is aligned against you, let there be that we would strike the ground, for you will give us victory, God…. I hear a sound of victory. In many of the revivals which have occurred during the last half century, the same influences have been at work, to a greater or less degree, that will be manifest in the more extensive movements of the future. There is an emotional excitement, a mingling of the true with the false, that is well adapted to mislead. Yet none need be deceived. In the light of God’s word it is not difficult to determine the nature of these movements. Wherever men neglect the testimony of the Bible, turning away from those plain, soul-testing truths which require self-denial and renunciation of the world, there we may be sure that God’s blessing is not bestowed. And by the rule which Christ Himself has given, “Ye shall know them by their fruits” (Matthew 7:16), it is evident that these movements are not the work of the Spirit of God. GC 464.2
Her stance also drew criticism. As clips of White’s intonations spread across the internet, people mocked the Florida pastor — arguing that Trump’s Christian base was appearing more extreme, more unhinged by the day.

DIPLOMATIC AFFAIRS: A new Israel – and US-backed – aid model bypasses Hamas and delivers food directly to Gazans, shifting dynamics on the ground and triggering strong criticism abroad.
The images emerging from Gaza this week were both familiar and unprecedented.
Familiar, in that they showed thousands of desperate Palestinians lining up for food. Unprecedented, in that those crowds weren’t swarming UNRWA trucks or local aid convoys but distribution centers run by a little-known Swiss-based NGO operating with quiet Israeli and American support.
The laborers will be qualified rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the training of literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will be constrained to go forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God gives them. The sins of Babylon will be laid open. The fearful results of enforcing the observances of the church by civil authority, the inroads of spiritualism, the stealthy but rapid progress of the papal power—all will be unmasked. By these solemn warnings the people will be stirred. Thousands upon thousands will listen who have never heard words like these. In amazement they hear the testimony that Babylon is the church, fallen because of her errors and sins, because of her rejection of the truth sent to her from heaven. As the people go to their former teachers with the eager inquiry, Are these things so? the ministers present fables, prophesy smooth things, to soothe their fears and quiet the awakened conscience. But since many refuse to be satisfied with the mere authority of men and demand a plain “Thus saith the Lord,” the popular ministry, like the Pharisees of old, filled with anger as their authority is questioned, will denounce the message as of Satan and stir up the sin-loving multitudes to revile and persecute those who proclaim it GC 606.2
The new system in the international community, it’s a troubling shift!
There were delays, rumors, threats, and even violence. But also, something new and promising: Gazans bypassing Hamas’s orders to accept food from a group unaffiliated with it.
For many in Israel, this is a long-overdue correction – perhaps even a game changer. For critics of the new system in the international community, it’s a troubling shift in how humanitarian assistance is delivered.
Our people have been regarded as too insignificant to be worthy of notice, but a change will come. The Christian world is now making movements which will necessarily bring commandment-keeping people into prominence. There is a constant supplanting of God’s truth by the theories and false doctrines of human origin. Movements are being set on foot to enslave the consciences of those who would be loyal to God. The lawmaking powers will be against God’s people. Every soul will be tested. 5T 546.2
From this perspective, the new system is a form of disruption – breaking the link between aid and Hamas, undermining its governance, and showing Gazans that there are alternatives.

The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a previously unknown Swiss-registered nonprofit backed by American private contractors and facilitated by Israel, began distributing food directly to Gazans on Tuesday under a new model. As of Thursday, around 14,500 food boxes – each containing basic staples able to feed between five and six people for 3.5 days – had been distributed at two locations, with a third distribution point opened that day.
The real issue at hand is control 🎮 Millions in bondage to sin, slaves of Satan, doomed to suffer the second death, would refuse to listen to the words of truth in their day of visitation. Terrible blindness! strange infatuation!
But the story here is not only about the food staples – though they will undoubtedly alleviate hunger in the enclave. The real issue at hand is control. And Hamas knows it, which is why the terrorist group’s reaction was furious.
The Majesty of Heaven in tears! the Son of the infinite God troubled in spirit, bowed down with anguish! The scene filled all Heaven with wonder. That scene reveals to us the exceeding sinfulness of sin; it shows how hard a task it is, even for infinite power, to save the guilty from the consequences of transgressing the law of God. Jesus, looking down to the last generation, saw the world involved in a deception similar to that which caused the destruction of Jerusalem. The great sin of the Jews was their rejection of Christ; the great sin of the Christian world would be their rejection of the law of God, the foundation of his government in Heaven and earth. The precepts of Jehovah would be despised and set at naught. Hamas warned and threatened people not to participate in the program, circulated false reports that the distribution had been disrupted or suspended, and even set up barriers to make the distribution points in the south – where the IDF has been urging Gazans to move – difficult to access.
All to no avail.
Thousands of Gazans arrived despite the hardships, walking many kilometers to reach the food and trampling Hamas’s barricades to get to the distribution spots. One viral video captured a Gazan father thanking “everyone who helped us – Muslims, infidels, Americans,” while children around him carried the food packages on their shoulders. The message from the ground was unmistakable: Hamas’s monopoly over aid distribution was fraying, and with it, the possibility that its grip on Gazan civilians was also slipping.
Joseph came on, glad and joyful that the object of his long search was accomplished. But, instead of a pleasant greeting, he met only scorn, abuse, and fierceness of looks which terrified him. He was immediately seized, and the coat which had created so much hatred, was stripped from him with the most taunting remarks. He had never before received such treatment and he expected his brethren would immediately kill him. His mind runs back to his home, his father, and the blessing he had received as he parted from him, and then he anticipated the sorrow he would feel at his death and the guilt of his murderers. A NEW WORLD ORDER KINGSHIP?

THE AID distribution began on the 599th day of the war, a war whose goals include – among others – destroying Hamas militarily and ending its governance over Gaza.
Parents need to awake, and purify their souls by practicing the truth in their home life. When we reach the standard that the Lord would have us reach, worldlings will regard Seventh-day Adventists as odd, singular, straight-laced extremists. “We are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men.” RH January 9, 1894, par. 10
Though the IDF is well on its way to dismantling Hamas’s military capabilities, the terrorist organization has been able to retain its civilian control. According to Israeli officials, this is largely because it hijacked and then controlled the distribution of the aid that has been allowed into Gaza.
“We prepared for far worse scenarios,” a senior IDF officer told Yediot Aharonot after the initial scenes of unrest on Tuesday. “The barrier of fear has been broken. Hamas is at its lowest point in terms of governance.”
The symbolism was striking: hungry Palestinians trampling Hamas-erected fences to reach Americans – guarded along the perimeter by Israeli soldiers – distributing boxes of food.

Israeli officials are framing the new distribution model as both a humanitarian necessity and a strategic tool. In a speech on Tuesday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Hamas looted the aid that flowed into Gaza before Israel blocked it on March 2.

Under William of Orange, the Revolution at last brought to Holland freedom to worship God.
“They [Hamas] took a good chunk for themselves, and the remainder they sold to the civilian population at exorbitant prices,” he said. “And thereby, they funded new recruits because we were able to kill a lot of terrorists. They have to replenish their war machine, their terrorist machine, their terrorist army. So they used the aid to continue the war. And we said, that has to stop.”
As in the days when paganism sought to destroy the gospel, “the blood of the Christians was seed.” Persecution served to increase the number of witnesses for the truth. Year after year the monarch, stung to madness by the unconquerable determination of the people, urged on his cruel work; but in vain. Under the noble William of Orange, the Revolution at last brought to Holland freedom to worship God. GC88 240.3
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar echoed that sentiment, recently stating that aid “must go directly to the people,” and “Hamas must not be allowed to get their hands on it.”
My husband was very anxious to see his brethren at Battle Creek and speak to them and rejoice with them in the work which God was doing for him. I gathered up my writings, and we started on our journey. On the way we held two meetings in Orange and had evidence that the church was profited and encouraged. We were ourselves refreshed by the Spirit of the Lord. That night I dreamed that I was in Battle Creek looking out from the side glass at the door and saw a company marching up to the house, two and two. They looked stern and determined. I knew them well and turned to open the parlor door to receive them, but thought I would look again. The scene was changed. The company now presented the appearance of a Catholic procession. One bore in his hand a cross, another a reed. And as they approached, the one carrying a reed made a circle around the house, saying three times: “This house is proscribed. The goods must be confiscated. They have spoken against our holy order.” Terror seized me, and I ran through the house, out of the north door, and found myself in the midst of a company, some of whom I knew, but I dared not speak a word to them for fear of being betrayed. I tried to seek a retired spot where I might weep and pray without meeting eager, inquisitive eyes wherever I turned. I repeated frequently: “If I could only understand this! If they will tell me what I have said or what I have done!” 1T 577.2

As former National Security Council head Yaakov Amidror put it in a Galei Yisrael radio interview: “We are trying to sever the ties between Hamas and food distribution…. If we succeed in doing that, it will be a very, very big achievement on the way to building an alternative to Hamas on ‘the day after.’”

But not everyone sees this as a solution. Critics argue that what is happening is not just a logistical shift but a fundamental reframing of humanitarian aid – with all the ethical and legal questions that entails.
A day before the plan went into effect, Jake Wood, the former US Marine who founded GHF, resigned, stating that the group could not function under the humanitarian principles of neutrality, independence, and impartiality. His resignation fueled criticism from the UN and major international aid organizations, which argued that placing the distribution of aid under the de facto control of Israel undermines decades of humanitarian norms not to put the aid in the hands of one of the warring parties.
Predictably, this new model sparked an uproar among international organizations. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the arrangement, saying it violates humanitarian principles. The UN and many of its donor countries – including Canada, Australia, the UK, and most of Europe – claimed this is politicized aid designed not to help civilians but to advance Israeli war aims.
As the controversy extends into new fields and the minds of the people are called to God’s downtrodden law, Satan is astir. The power attending the message will only madden those who oppose it. The clergy will put forth almost superhuman efforts to shut away the light lest it should shine upon their flocks. By every means at their command they will endeavor to suppress the discussion of these vital questions. The church appeals to the strong arm of civil power, and, in this work, papists and Protestants unite. As the movement for Sunday enforcement becomes more bold and decided, the law will be invoked against commandment keepers. They will be threatened with fines and imprisonment, and some will be offered positions of influence, and other rewards and advantages, as inducements to renounce their faith. But their steadfast answer is: “Show us from the word of God our error”—the same plea that was made by Luther under similar circumstances. Those who are arraigned before the courts make a strong vindication of the truth, and some who hear them are led to take their stand to keep all the commandments of God. Thus light will be brought before thousands who otherwise would know nothing of these truths. Conscientious obedience to the word of God will be treated as rebellion. GC 607.1 – GC 608.1
For years, the world was content to look the other way as Hamas turned humanitarian assistance into a tool of repression. While UN agencies and NGOs handed over aid with little oversight, Hamas hijacked it – taxing, reselling, diverting, and using the proceeds to recruit fighters, dig tunnels, and fund its war machine.
This modus operandi continued throughout the war, and there was no uproar in the humanitarian aid community about how this was a “weaponization of assistance.” But now that Israel and the US are attempting to bypass Hamas and deliver food directly to families – through secured, monitored, militarily protected centers – that’s suddenly beyond the pale?
Amidror said that while international organizations, such as UNRWA, were distributing aid, “it was connected to Hamas. Hamas decided what they will and will not do. They took tax from the population and controlled the distribution.” By taking it away, Hamas is weakened substantially.
Or, as Netanyahu said this week, “It leaves the fish without the water.”
The logic runs like this: Hamas is weaker than ever. Militarily, the IDF continues to dismantle its capabilities. Politically, the loss of control over aid distribution hits at the heart of Hamas’s remaining claim to authority. Every family that receives food without Hamas’s blessing is a small act of rebellion. And every day the new model continues is one more crack in the wall of Hamas control.

The real test : This effort must not be halted
Still, few in the IDF or the political echelon are declaring victory just yet. “The real test is determination and persistence,” Yediot quoted defense officials as saying. “This effort must not be halted. It is no less strategic than the military campaign.”
The new model is still in its infancy. GHF plans to expand operations to four hubs, with the goal of delivering up to 300 million meals within 90 days. But security concerns remain. The organization’s leadership is in flux. And the international pressure is only growing.

The Lord has faithful watchmen on the walls of Zion to “cry aloud and spare not,” to lift up their voice like a trumpet, and show His people their transgressions and the house of Jacob their sins. [Isaiah 58:1.] The Lord has permitted the enemy of truth to make a determined effort against the Sabbath of the fourth commandment. He designs by this means to awaken a decided interest in that question which is a decided test for the last days. This will open the way for the third angel’s message to be proclaimed with power. Moreover, this is Gaza, and Hamas is fighting for survival, so what works one day can unravel the next.
But the very fact that tens of thousands of Gazans defied Hamas to obtain food, that Israel was able to help facilitate this without losing control, and that the first distribution didn’t end in total collapse – these are developments that are not only worth noting but also promising.
Still, while Israel and the US see this as a targeted, tactical move designed to serve both humanitarian and strategic goals, much of the world views it as a dangerous precedent. Aid organizations worry that the new model may exclude those unable to travel, punish those in areas outside the “sterile zone” where the aid is distributed, and embed military aims within a humanitarian infrastructure.
Some academics have gone even further. Thea Hilhorst, a professor of humanitarian studies at Erasmus University in Rotterdam, told the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle that the new approach was tantamount to “the instrumentalization of aid for war purposes” and warned it could amount to “ethnic cleansing.”and
Other international critics see it as using aid as a lever of coercion, not compassion.
The UN’s emergency relief coordinator, Tom Fletcher, told the UN Security Council on May 13 that this tactic appeared to prioritize “placing the objective of depopulating Gaza over the lives of civilians.”
But Fletcher’s assessments are suspect. On May 20, he told the BBC that about 14,000 babies would die in Gaza in two days if aid did not flow – an inflammatory and baseless accusation that undermines his, and his agency’s, credibility.
Israel argues that there is no choice but to set up this alternative method of distribution, and that it cannot simply return to a situation where aid is looted and sold on the black market to fund salaries for more Hamas recruits.
The new distribution method – backed, funded, and protected by Israel and the US – is designed to break that cycle.
If it succeeds, it will do more than just feed people. It will chip away at Hamas’s claim to authority. It will empower Gazans to look elsewhere for leadership. And it will help answer the question Israel has been grappling with for 600 days: How do you defeat not just Hamas’s army but also its grip on society?

Honeybees are crucial to the food supply, pollinating over 100 crops including nuts, vegetables, berries, citrus and melons. Bees and other pollinators have been declining for years, and experts blame insecticides, parasites, disease, climate change and lack of a diverse food supply.
