Vladimir Putin appears to have shifted his war aims to once again include conquering all of Ukraine as his forces accelerate gains on the front lines.

The Russian president announced that “all of Ukraine is ours” last week as the world’s attention was drawn to the conflict in the Middle East and Iran’s nuclear programme.

The truth is to be the food given to the souls ready to perish. Call the attention of the people to the signs of the times. There are wars and rumors of wars. Nation is rising against nation. Selfishness and covetousness lead to violence, crime, and all kinds of wickedness. Nation is watching nation, to see if there is not some advantage to be gained. A concession made by one nation only opens the way for another concession to be called for. The presumptuous, daring deeds of unholy ambition, done to gain strength by robbing others, show that men do not realize that he that taketh the sword shall perish with the sword. 15LtMs, Lt 28, 1900, par. 30

“Wherever the Russian soldier treads is ours,” he told an economic forum in St Petersburg as his forces attempted to push into Sumy, despite not being one of the four regions he annexed in 2022.

But while Satan rules in the world, he is also working in the church to prevent men and women from proclaiming the warning message. Our church members are asleep; unbrotherliness exists. And some who realize the responsibilities resting upon them, and who would go forth with the message of warning, are prevented by the forbiddings of those who feel that it is their prerogative to control the actions of their fellow workers. Meanwhile, peace talks have further stalled, with Putin saying they are “nowhere close” to success after efforts by Donald Trump fizzled out.

On Monday, Putin’s forces said that they had taken the final sliver of Luhansk after controlling about 99 per cent of the region for several years.

If state media claims are accurate, Russian forces have also seized their first village in the Dnipropetrovsk region – a territory Ukraine has never previously had to defend from invading ground troops. Tens of thousands of troops are also massing around Sumy and Kharkiv, two northern regions not included in the 2022 annexation.

If confirmed, Luhansk would become the first Ukrainian region to fall fully under Russian control since Putin annexed Crimea in 2014.

But Putin’s ambitions now appear to go far beyond Luhansk and the three other regions he illegally annexed in September 2022.

The intensification of operations across Ukraine comes as US-led efforts to broker peace between Moscow and Kyiv appear to have stalled.

The satanic agencies are a living, persevering power, at work to bar the way so that the kingdom of Christ may not come and the will of God be done in the earth. The church is asleep while Satan is sowing his tares. While so many of the church members refuse to shine, how shall the world be enlightened? There is work given of God for every one to do; there are to be no idle ones. Not one is to be selfish and self-centered. Two rounds of direct talks took place!

Nearly Three Years to Claim Full Control!

Russia’s decision to annexe Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia in 2022 was, in part, a recalibration after it failed to take Kyiv. By narrowing its goals to eastern Ukraine, Moscow hoped to present a more realistic path to victory.

Yet it has taken nearly three years to claim full control of Luhansk – if that claim proves true – despite starting the war with a large portion of the region already occupied.

The shift back to a wider campaign!

Now, the shift back to a wider campaign is unmistakable. Renewed offensives around Kharkiv and Sumy, both targeted unsuccessfully in the early months of the war, point to a new escalation.

Angelica Evans, a Russia analyst at the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), said Putin’s revised ambitions began resurfacing when he visited Kursk in May and ordered the creation of a “buffer zone” along the Ukrainian border.

Putin’s apparent shift in strategy may also explain the recent uptick in strikes on civilian areas. In Kyiv, 18 people were killed in a missile strike on an apartment block, while 17 died while travelling on a civilian train in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The reported seizure of Dachne in Dnipropetrovsk, if confirmed, would be especially troubling for Volodymyr Zelensky. In more than a decade of conflict with Kremlin-backed separatists and Russian troops, Ukraine has never had to fight in this region.

One Ukrainian military source previously warned that the flat terrain and sparse settlements could allow for a swift Russian advance. It would also come at a time when Russia is advancing at its fastest pace since November.

The Russian army took 588 sq km (227 sq miles) of Ukrainian territory in June, compared with 507 sq km in May, 379 sq km in April, and 240 sq km in March, according to ISW data. While gains have increased, it would still take 70 years for Russia to take the whole country if advances continued at the same rate.

The iniquity and spiritual darkness that prevailed under the supremacy of Rome were the inevitable result of her suppression of the Scriptures; but where is to be found the cause of the widespread infidelity, the rejection of the law of God, and the consequent corruption, under the full blaze of gospel light in an age of religious freedom? The desire to seize more territory beyond the annexed regions may not come as a surprise to Ukrainian negotiators.

During peace talks in Istanbul in May, Russian officials reportedly warned Ukraine that Moscow could sustain its war effort for another 21 years.

Thus they cast away the law and the Sabbath together. As the work of Sabbath reform extends, this rejection of the divine law to avoid the claims of the fourth commandment will become well-nigh universal. Vladimir Medinsky, a Kremlin aide who led the Russian delegation, said Moscow wanted peace but would fight “however long it takes” and threatened to annexe Sumy and Kharkiv if Ukraine refused to bow down to Putin’s demands.

Some US officials also appear to recognise that Russia has little interest in ending the conflict.

Keith Kellogg, Mr Trump’s special envoy for Russia and Ukraine, said Russia was to blame for derailing the talks.

“Russian claims that it is the US and Ukraine stalling peace talks are unfounded. President Trump has been consistent and adamant about making progress to end the war,” he said.

“We urge an immediate ceasefire and a move to trilateral talks to end the war. Russia cannot continue to stall for time while it bombs civilian targets in Ukraine.”

Authoritarianism expert Ruth Ben-Ghiat warned that President Donald Trump is taking things to a “chilling” new level with his latest rhetoric.

Trump on Tuesday threatened to strip U.S. citizens of their nationality and then deport them if they commit certain crimes ― including some who were born in the United States.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.John 3 : 3

“They’re not new to our country. They’re old to our country. Many of them were born in our country. I think we ought to get them the hell out of here, too, if you want to know the truth,” he said during a visit to a new migrant detention facility. “So maybe that will be the next job that we’ll work on together.”

It is no time now to allow our minds to be engrossed with things of minor importance. While men are sleeping, Satan is actively arranging matters so that the Lord’s people may not have mercy or justice. The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the under-current is tending. Its professions are mild, and apparently Christian; but when it shall speak, it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger. We should endeavor to disarm prejudice by placing ourselves in a proper light before the people. We should bring before them the real question at issue, thus interposing the most effectual protest against measures to restrict liberty of conscience. We should search the Scriptures, and be able to give the reason for our faith. Says the prophet, “The wicked shall do wickedly, and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.” RH December 11, 1888, par. 8

The comments echo what Trump said in April when speaking of deportations to El Salvador.

“The homegrowns are next,” Trump said during a meeting with Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele.

Ben-Ghiat, the author of “Strongmen: Mussolini to the Present,” responded on X about Trump’s comments:

Trump’s latest comments came after NPR reported that the Justice Department was “aggressively prioritizing” efforts to revoke the status of naturalized citizens who commit certain crimes.

On Tuesday, he said that could include citizens born in the United States who “whack people over the head with a baseball bat from behind when they’re not looking and kill them” or “knife you when you’re walking down the street.”

However, Trump also indicated that category could be far broader, at least with naturalized U.S. citizens such as former ally Elon Musk. After his latest falling out with Musk, Trump said he said he would “take a look” at deporting the tech billionaire.

Parents need to awake, and purify their souls by practicing the truth in their home life. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Saturday confirmed that they had “eliminated” one of the founders of Hamas in a joint operation with the Israel Security Agency (ISA).

Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, a senior figure in Hamas’ military wing, was killed in Gaza City in an airstrike in the Sabra on Friday, the IDF said.

Issa’s current role in the Hamas military wing was as head of combat support headquarters, and he led force-buildup efforts in the Gaza Strip, served as head of the training headquarters and was a member of Hamas’ General Security Council.

Leon Panetta, the former director of the CIA during Barack Obama’s first term, has warned that President Donald Trump’s decision to bomb Iran – and the intelligence disputes surrounding it – only serve to emphasize “how dangerous a world we live in right now.”

Panetta, 86, who also served as Bill Clinton’s chief of staff and currently co-hosts the foreign policy podcast One Decision, told The i Paper: “I don’t think there’s any alternative but to understand how dangerous a world we live in right now.

“Not only because of the adversaries that are out there – whether it’s China, or Russia, or North Korea, or Iran, or terrorism – but also because of the concerns about leadership, and whether or not the U.S. will exercise the right kind of leadership in a dangerous world.”

After Israel launched air strikes against Iran on Friday June 13 as part of its Operation Rising Lion offensive, intended to stop Tehran developing a nuclear weapon, Trump initially kept his distance before dropping bunker-busting bombs on three Iranian uranium enrichment sites over the weekend.

In the run-up, the president dismissed the significance of his own Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard briefing Congress in March that Iran was not currently advancing its efforts to build a weapon of mass destruction.

He also sidelined her from Situation Room meetings discussing the conflict but offered no evidence of his own to contradict her assessment.

The president and his administration have since attacked The New York Times and CNN for reporting on a U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency assessment that found the damage done to the Fordo, Natanz, and Esfahan facilities was not as severe as Trump and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had indicated.

Responding to those tensions, Panetta said: “There’s no question that when the U.S. president makes a statement that our intelligence assessments are wrong and doesn’t believe our own intelligence, that creates a very dangerous moment.

“It undermines the work of our intelligence professionals who really are focused on trying to provide the president with the truth. When the president questions their credibility, that certainly undermines their morale, I’m sure.

“But secondly, it also creates a real problem for the president, because if he rejects the intelligence he’s receiving, then what will be the basis for the decisions that he makes in the future, and that is a very scary prospect.”

The former official added: “I have always been confident about our intelligence assessments with regards to Iran… The fundamental question is: did they make a decision to proceed with developing a weapon? And I think our intelligence indicates that that still was not the case.”

For Panetta, the episode provides the latest example of Trump’s “unpredictability” as a leader, which poses a risk to America’s NATO allies, who met this week in the Netherlands, at a time of heightened international unease.

“It really does rest with our European allies to do everything necessary to make sure that NATO is prepared militarily, to be able to respond if necessary,” he said

Everything in the world is in agitation. The signs of the times are ominous. Coming events cast their shadows before. The Spirit of God is withdrawing from the earth, and calamity follows calamity by sea and by land. There are tempests, earthquakes, fires, floods, murders of every grade. Who can read the future? Where is security? There is assurance in nothing that is human or earthly. Rapidly men are ranging themselves under the banner they have chosen. Restlessly they are waiting and watching the movements of their leaders.
An intensity such as never before was seen is taking possession of the world. In amusements, in money-making, in the contest for power, in the very struggle for existence, there is a terrible force that engrosses body and mind and soul. In the midst of this maddening rush, God is speaking. He bids us come apart and commune with Him. “Be still, and know that I am God.” ST July 6,  1904, par. 1 – ST July 6,  1904, par. 2

False ProphetsLDE 20As one of the signs of Jerusalem’s destruction, Christ had said, “Many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many” [Matthew 24:11]. False prophets did rise, deceiving the people and leading great numbers into the desert. Magicians and sorcerers, claiming miraculous power, drew the people after them into the mountain solitudes. As the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west!

The Spirit of God is withdrawing from the earth, and calamity follows calamity by sea and by land. There are tempests, earthquakes, fires, floods, murders of every grade. Who can read the future? Where is security? There is assurance in nothing that is human or earthly. Rapidly are men ranging themselves under the banner they have chosen. Restlessly are they waiting and watching the movements of their leaders. There are those who are waiting and watching and working for our Lord’s appearing. The crisis is stealing gradually upon us. The sun shines in the heavens, passing over its usual round, and the heavens still declare the glory of God.  DA 636.1 – DA 636.2

May 19, 1780, stands in history as “The Dark Day.” Since the time of Moses, no period of darkness of equal density, extent, and duration has ever been recorded. KANANASKIS, Alberta (AP) — A Canadian Indigenous leader who greeted world heads of state arriving for the Group of Seven summit says he was “filled with rage” and considered leaving before Donald Trump arrived — saying the U.S. president has “caused much pain and suffering in the world.”

Instead, Steven Crowchild prayed, consulted with his peoples’ leaders and ultimately opted to stay on the tarmac for a long conversation with Trump that he hopes will call more attention to promoting peace, protecting clean water and other issues key to Canada’s First Nation peoples.

In the beginning, God was revealed in all the works of creation. It was Christ that spread the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth. It was His hand that hung the worlds in space, and fashioned the flowers of the field. “His strength setteth fast the mountains.” “The sea is His, and He made it.” Psalm 65:6; 95:5. It was He that filled the earth with beauty, and the air with song. And upon all things in earth, and air, and sky, He wrote the message of the Father’s love. DA 20.1

“It was really intense, to say the least,” Crowchild told The Associated Press on Monday, recalling his lengthy encounter with Trump on Sunday night in Calgary for the G7 in nearby Kananaskis. “When I woke up on Father’s Day, I didn’t anticipate I would be seeing world leaders, and one certain individual that has caused much pain and suffering in the world.”

Why do we not remember that Christ is our light, our salvation? He gave His own precious life that we might be guided, strengthened, and sustained. Why do we not go to Him as a child goes to its father. He is our Helper, our Sufficiency, our all and in all. If we go to Him in faith, we shall never fail to receive comfort. He will deal gently with us in our infirmities; for He has been tempted in all points like as we are. 16LtMs, Ms 28, 1901, par. 17

In Canada, First Nations refers to one of three major legally recognized groups of aboriginal people. Crowchild, of the Tsuut’ina First Nation, is a Tsuut’ina Isgiya and a current elected member of the Tsuut’ina Nation Xakujaa-yina and Chief and Council.

Crowchild said he spoke in his people’s traditional language, wore feathered headgear that made him feel strong and showed Trump treaty medals that he told the president were older than Canada itself. Trump wore a white “Make America Great Again” cap and appeared to be listening at length — though both sides declined to comment on exactly what was said.

Crowchild said. “I was going to go home because I didn’t want to bring any negativity to my people. However, I did consult with close people and advisers and, based on feedback, I stayed, considering that visibility is key and diplomacy is important.”

Our Representative and High Priest!

Aware that “no Indigenous representation was there at the time,” Crowchild said he “prayed to my creator” and “really thought of those suffering around the world” in choosing to speak to Trump.

Every one will be tested. Men professing to be Christians will be placed in positions of trust, as guardians over the flock of God. But if they act as dictators, using arbitrary authority, they are out of their place. Christ alone is our sufficiency. Great mischief has resulted from the course of men who set themselves as lords over God’s heritage.
We are God’s property. In Jesus Christ we are to behold a pattern of what we should be. Every soul should be educated to look not to his fellow men, but unto Christ. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. Let no man think it his place to point out to others in a compulsory manner their duty. This God forbids. All are to be guided in the path of duty by the plain Word of God.

Crowchild said that, in addition to Trump, he greeted other arriving world leaders and “tried to remind each one of them to try to be a good leader and protect our water for future generations.”

“I spoke for my elders,” Crowchild said, noting that he spoke of promoting peace and “protecting water for future generations” and tried to “say as much as I could, as wisely as I could, while representing with honor and dignity. Whether he listened or not, time will tell.”

He said that, ultimately, the U.S. president is “just another person.”

“Some would say he’s a horrible person, and we all know many reasons,” Crowchild said. “I stood taller than him as proud Tsuut’ina Isgiya.”
